this brought me back some gross memories... i was on the beach and i met a group of kids and a friend of their family, that friend was a diver (idk how to write it sorry) she told us that she liked animal alot and asked us if we did, we said yes (ofcoarse). She swam around a little bit and later came back with a sea cucumber, she told us that they could eat by their butt and that they it sand and poop sand(im sorry lady but that is the wrost thing you can say to a group of 7-10 kids). She keep swimming around the area, meanwhile we played with the sea cucumber, we feed it sand and see it poop it (outside the water btw) until this really bored kid dicides to get a stick and poke it through it's butt.....fortunately the sane kids we were, we throw it to the ocean again. We forgot about it for a while until we go to swim again to se the sea cucumber floating with this weird white tentacles things, we all though it was it's intestines...slowing die out.... well now i see this vid... my childhood is saved..

Great info. I appreciate the graphics. And you can eat them, butt and all, though usually, in most of the Indo, Malaysian, and Chinese food I've had, most of the looser odds and ends are removed and the rest sliced and diced, but that's not essential. I have friends making a living by farming sea cucumbers in Indonesia. They don't wander too far, but the do like to keep them in pens.Herding cukes--not sure where that fits on a career trajectory. I don't recommend having sea cucumber fights--the ejaculated strings--another butt function and a defense mechanism--tend to stick to everything, particularly hair.

sea cucumbers are one of those 'nightmare creatures' of the sea. When I was a kid and I saw a sea cucumber on tv, I thought it was a vegetable in the sea. Then the creature expelled its organs, and I was forever scared of these creatures haha

Great new video for 2017 Anna, Sea cucumbers are a bar snack in Japan and quite the delicacy and its amazing how different animals body and organ structures are also its pretty neat that we as humans have A mighty membrane that twists and turns through the gut is starting the New Year with a new classification: the structure, called the mesentery, has been upgraded to an organ.Scientists have known about the structure, which connects a person's small and large intestines to the abdominal wall and anchors them in place. By recognising the anatomy and the structure of the mesentery, scientists can now focus on learning more about how the organ function

I'm a diver. very interested more with sea creatures. for instance , animals like shrimp and crabs that live/hide on under crinoid. how about exploring species that might live in/on another species. and both either sea plants or sea animals. btw, i like the video. never spot a fish who lives in sea cucumber butt.but looking forward to it on my next dive
