Heavy fog on journey in, harbour clear. Fog rolled into harbour, but within 20 minutes cleared again...strange. Decent haul of fish to be had.

Hi Thomas I usually fish a big bait at distance and a flapper short cast. I also get best results fishing short. Next time you fish and I'm there stop and say hi.

Can anyone one out there remember about 60 years ago at the end of that pier, all those huge skate that were pulled up the slipway in the good old days, and a little fishing shop that used to hire you a rod for the day.

bit before my time, I first fished pier in 1972 with some coarse fishing gear, even then though I had quite a few decent fish.

Don't bother mate, I have a new one I bought but never used, you can have it free of charge. Will be coming this week either Wed or Thurs.

Why did you choose the South Pier? All the locals who are after Cod at this time of year go on the North Pier. At the base of the South Pier it is very rocky and snaggy. All you will get of the South are little Dabs. Still good luck mate!
@houstonfishingadventuresuk6864 жыл бұрын
I sometimes go on North Pier but depends if I can be bothered to walk round, is there any parking near. I do prefer off the beach really. Thanks for info
@jackplugg45294 жыл бұрын
@@houstonfishingadventuresuk686 Good Morning, if you have google earth, have a look for Prince Street, you can park either side and you are right at the top of the North Pier. If as I suspect you are parking at the Harbour car park, all you have to do is walk along Harbour Road, which is parallel to the South Pier, should take about five minutes and you are at the North pier. Try to get as far down the pier as you can, but don't forget your specs! Good luck and tight lines.

Just another thought, if you fancy a go off the beach, try the North beach, have a look on google earth for North Marine Drive, loads of parking opposite the Expanse Hotel, you can get straight onto the beach there.

I've watched your video's which are very interesting and informative, but can I just say please take the camera off your head and either hold it or put it on a tripod because all that movement when you look around makes me feel sick.
