Hi Gareth, you’re a natural in front of the camera buddy, with your persona shining through. Loving the videos. Between yourself and ‘Slippy Limpets’ channel I’m hard pressed to find two better individuals on you tube to subscribe to. Keep up the great work and I hope your channel goes from strength to strength!!

Thank you for the kind words Mark, they mean a lot. I've not been doing fishing videos for very long and so I have a lot to learn yet but I'm slowly getting there ha! I try and be myself in front of the camera and show fishing in its true light. I can't always catch the fish unfortunately but try to make the videos as watchable as possible and enjoy it at the same time. Thanks for the support 👍👍

Yes access to this beach is fairly straightforward and it's comfortable fishing. Newton beach is also straightforward, you park in the carpark and walk onto the beach. Hopefully we'll get a decent Whiting season 👍

Hi Gareth another great video . I've noticed you seem to have quite a wide hold on your rods ( as in rod butt to reel distance ) so I presume your a tall person I'm only 5ft 2 myself. I totally like the way you don't even flinch when you lose a descent fish , if that was me it would be all FFF bb ww !!!!!. For this I've named you the Gentle Giant . Do you watch other youtubers doing fishing . I have about 5-6 other people as well that I like to watch , TA fishing , fish Locker , Essex shore fishing , Smash fishing and Inglorious fishing. all different in their ways but all fun to watch. What do you do for a living if you don't mind me asking .?

Hi Robert, glad you enjoyed the video. Yeah I'm 6'2, hence the wide hold, long arms you see! Oh believe me, I wasn't calm on the inside when I lost that big fish but I had to keep my cool for the camera...if I wasn't filming, a few choice words would have come out! But I'll take the name 'Gentle Giant', I guess I'm gentle most of the time ha. I work my local council in Planning, 26 years and counting, for my sins but hopefully work for myself one day. Hi Jayden, pleased to hear you're enjoying the videos, thank you. Not that I'm an expert but it may not be the best time of year for Bass, although there's still a few about. I've caught all of my best Bass around Newport, in particular the tidal stretch of the River Usk but more so between spring and late autumn. Cardiff Bay Barrage is a good Bass spot, Newton Beach in Porthcawl and further West, Cefn Sidan beach. Aberavon Beach also throws up some nice Bass too 👍👍
