Really informative and entertaining video as usual. I was especially curious about your 17cm boom rigs with short snoods so I made a few up and fished with them at Barton last week. It was a brilliant night and I had a couple of dozen fish including mainly small pouting and whiting plus a dogfish and a pollack of over 2 lbs which is a fairly unusual catch from open sandy beaches. Sadly no sole but perhaps I was not fishing close enough in so I’ll have another crack tonight with the booms.

Hello Dave, Thanks very much for your comment. I've had Sole at Barton on the booms. Good luck tonight. Great weather for it.

@@671fishingstuart Hi Stuart, used the boom rig again last night. Literally dozens of whiting and pout, I don’t think any sole could have got near the bait quickly enough! In the end fishing with two rods both with boom rigs became a bit tiresome because I had fish on every cast so it was non-stop unhooking and re-baiting action. In the end I put a live pouting on an URF rig on one rod just to calm things down a bit but sadly no bass took it. Of course I don’t know if a normal ( non boom) three hook flapper would have been equally effective given the amount of fish around but this rig is a definite winner in my book so thanks again for the tips. Now for a sole!

@@davidburgess2354I've heard the whiting have hit the south coast in force. I'm going to try Hordle next week.

Thank you so much pal! I was very much of the 6-9inch short snood mentality until now. Always thought you need to be nailed to the seabed to catch them. Going to try and experiment on different beaches after watching that. Top video Stu.
