I was a plane captain on this actual aircraft, Serviced her on the ArkRoyal, and at Yeovilton. Spent many hours working her.. I have pictures of me lying in the wing in Malta..

I for one really appreciate the walk-around, especially if you can get that close to the aircraft. Traveling to another country is not a option for some of us, even on normal times, so we really appreciate it mate.

This is the Alraigo Sea Harrier. It fired its' gun in anger during the Falklands. I have the original altimeter of this aircraft on my bookshelf (removed when it was converted from FRS1 to FA2).

On close inspection, I didn't realise how big the "Cheat holes" round the main engine intakes were. What are the two outlets just forward and below of the starboard and Port elevators - part of the LP compressor "Puffer jet" manouevering system or something else ? As they are leading edge shrouded are they some sort of " Air Dump" mechanism ? "Your project for today . . now make it Stealth and supercruise."

"What are the two outlets just forward and below of the starboard and Port elevators" If you look at the ram air intake (3 min 48 sec) sticking out forward of the tail fin base, the hole is about the same size as the sum of those four exit holes, so it could be there is something under or in the fin that needs to be cooled. Looking at the sensors and panels on the fin, that is a reasonable assumption I think...

Coventry university got a harrier for the students to practise on. Would be interesting to see what kind of shape it is in now after a few years of students stripping it and putting it back together.

Because those were simpler times when you didn't need to have a private contractor charge hundreds if not thousands of dollars per hour to fix the damned software.
