Rip........ They wont find it. Its been twenty five years and since it sunk during a storm the waves would have damaged it severly and moved it around because of the currents.

Was she made of iron? If so you can find it off Sabel Island where parts were washed up. If the boat was made of wood it's long gone. I wish them luck. It will be an interesting find.

Andrea Gail's last reported location is just a few hundred miles away from the wrecksite of Titanic.. have they ever thought to look near the drop-off the continental shelf?

She was headed West, and the winds and waves would have continued to push her West before she sank. She wouldn't be anywhere near the drop off of the shelf. She's more likely in The Gulley, the underwater canyon off Sable

@24547377 @24547377 the navy found her already in 600 to 700 ft water resting upright. they say it looks peaceful with little to no damage done.they did leave it alone and did sugguest the crew is downward inside her.

Why did the sea hunters did not go back .There is so much interest in this story.They cannot take the credit for finding her.Some body should raise money and send a real search party for that ship.Very dissapointed in the sea hunters

Sadly, this was nearly 20 years ago. They encountered a storm and quickly gave up the search, and never went back. The Andrea Gail is almost certainly somewhere off Sable's coast, but nobody knows where exactly.

This is a very small ship to be looking for in that region, a region carpeted with fishing boat wrecks, war wreckage, etc. Doesn't make a great deal of sense when there are bigger targets, more interesting targets to search out.

Leave her be. Find it , if possible, but dont raise it, or attempt to recover remains. They lived, and died, as fisherman. Lots of boats out there that size [72ft]. As to being historicaly more signifagant than Titanic, as one guy said...No way. Titanic disastor ushered in major changes in shipping. I.E. lifeboats, pumps, construction. Mr. Cussler is an amazing man. great author and good American.

They can't raise ships they know still have human remains inside of her. Maritime looks at it more as a grave sight for her crew. It would be disrespectful to raise the ship and start digging around inside of it. That's the final resting place of her crew , the ocean claimed them as sailors and that's where they will stay.
