Vlogging, voiceover and drone shots! What a content king you are Clay :)

Haha.. yes! Clayton is a pretty key part of the channel. My mumbling has only a limited appeal.

@@GoneKayaking Indeed! I saw on the map that it's close to Bournemouth - I've been there many years ago by the coast, but wasn't a paddler yet. I also seem to remember an attached hot air balloon secured to the ground in a park in the city as a special attraction, but that would have been over 15 years ago,

@@AirOnTheWater yep. I remember the balloon. I think its gone now but very close. Our other video Avon beach goes all along thae coast past Bournemouth

A little 'camp' moment for Darren @6:40. And that seal comment lol, tried not to laugh loud as it's 5:30am. Great paddle, excellent stuff 👍😎. No captain Chris for a while?
@GoneKayaking2 жыл бұрын
Haha.. yes that was a slightly limp rock spotting moment. Capn Chris makes a comeback in the next episode. He's been away for months living on a boat and we catch up with him in Menorca.

Great video, will have to do the Jurassic Coast at some point. Living in Cornwall we have some brilliant paddles, huge caves and arches spoilt for choice. North or South Coast, creeks, rivers and lakes. Look forward to seeing your Cornish trip!

Thanks Paul. Its well doing the Jurassic run. I loved it and will definitely do it again. We are often in Cornwall with family in Looe and St Austell. I will soon finish editing another Cornwall one from Sennen to Newlyn around Longships. Fingers crossed we'll meet you out there🤞.

How have you been getting on with the Valkyrie now you've been using it a while? Doing with the idea of getting one for going round Anglesey - wondering how it compares with a Scorpio.
@GoneKayaking2 жыл бұрын
Hi Ian. The Valkyrie is a faster boat, though in reality it's a small increase like a half knot average - you won't be planing unless surfing.. The Scorpio is very much a traditional shape so if you are into edging etc you will feel at home. The Valkyrie really needs the rudder as the rocker at the back will mean you weather cock like a wild thing without it so I find I tend to get lazy on the edging and use the rudder.. Im fine with that but some see that as blasphemy. Inside though they're very similar outfitting and can fit like a snug white water boat so really responsive. I hope that helps Darren

@@GoneKayaking ah that's great. How is it in a downwind run? Is the stability good when playing through tide races. Having not used a rudder before, how do you find it on a long day paddling? I'm suspecting I'll be in it for around 15 hours!
@GoneKayaking2 жыл бұрын
@Ian Wilson on a downwind run the Valkyrie really come alive. You will find you are able to surf on swell that the Scorpio would need a little steeper to catch.. partly, i guess from the extra speed to catch it but also the extra length and flat bottom all helps. I have done a few long runs of 5 housrs or so and I am really comfortable in the Valkyrie. I'm 6ft 2 inches tall and equipped with size 11 feet. There is still more adjustment if needed too. I have had overnight kit all loaded inside too with no issue. If you are around the S coast at any point give me a buzz and you are welcome to have a chat, look, sit etc

When on an island NEVER leave your kayak unattended and untethered... I made that mistake before and-- CRAP NOW WHAT DO I DO?????
