I like how they incorporate so much of real documentaries, disputes, limited film time, the presence of several crew members all makes the series so much better. Love megaladon.

I don't think they need to do a remake at all. They did an amazing job with the original series, and many of the animatronic geniuses are retired now, or have been replaced with CGI trained people. CGI is never as good as animatronics. It always looks fake. I would rather see them make more episodes in these series with the money instead of re-spending it on something that's already been done. I think they ended the "Prehistoric Park" series way too soon. Put some money into that, or some new episodes using some of the new fossil discoveries they have been making. At any rate, I will always be interested to see more shows with Nigel Marven.
@txrracxtta
@txrracxtta 5 жыл бұрын
Not to mention, you can actually touch and interact with animatronics, but if you try to make it look like somebody's interacting with a CGI dino it just looks awful. That's what made the newest Jurassic World movie amazing, in my opinion; the dinosaurs were mostly puppets rather than CGI this time around, so the cast was actually touching and interacting with them, as if they were real live dinosaurs. Beautiful.
@Alexander_Isen

This isn't CGI?
@txrracxtta
@txrracxtta 5 жыл бұрын
@@Alexander_Isen No, no, for the most part this series is CGI. Megalodon, Cameroceras, Dunkleosteus, etc. were all CGI with some puppet elements, while things like the Sea Scorpions and the Leedsicthys were actual puppets (well, the dead one was -- the ones Nigel swims with are also CG.)

@@txrracxtta I think the reason people want a remake is because some of the information is outdated. For example, Otodus megalodon only got to around 40 ft. at maximum size, and the plates on Dunkleosteus would've been covered by skin.

@Absolia24
@Absolia24 9 жыл бұрын
+Frida Nyberg I'm not suggesting they use terrible animatronics. I'm suggesting they use good animatronics in combination with good cgi. If everything is made with cgi it just feels bland and like it's not there. I understand why they need it for certain scenes and effects, but when they could use an animatronic, they should. Having real things on set is important. It draws you in, and makes it feel like what you're seeing is real. (Even if consciously you know it isn't.) It's not nostalgia points, its wanting to have something more to look at than just graphics. It tires the eyes to stare at the same kind of effect over and over again.

RobotsGreatWar2 I said Hominins were 100,000 years apart, Australopithecus evolved into Hominins and considering that evolutionarily, 100k isn't very long, so the Australopithecus which co-existed with Megalodon must have been somewhat more human like.

Good thing too or else Humans would never have been able to go out into the deep sea since Megalodon would've made short work out of small to medium sized boats and eaten the Humans on them.

Then I brushed my beliefs of that off and knew it was fake. Ghee atleast I wasnt so gullible like the young kids nowadays, and actually asked myself questions to re-evaluate if its real or not

I loved these Nigel documentaries because they were such a great way to visualize and really understand the size of these creatures. Much easier to get the scale when we have a person there to act as a comparison. Sure, some information is false now since further research was done after the show was published but it's still such an entertaining piece.

@girlgarde
@girlgarde 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah but can you blame them? The Great White Shark's general body design is common amongst sharks as most of the other big name sharks like the tiger and mako sharks look somewhat like the Great White so Megalodon likely looked a lot like a Great White. Of course, we could be wrong and it looked differently but until this is confirmed, I along with most people will continue to think that it looked generally like a Great white.

Ok this is awesome and all cause i saw this when i was little, but now there is one part that bothers me. when Nigel's debating with the crew, i dont get why he says "We haven't got enough time for the juveniles" when they're obviously time traveling. like do they have to get their research done in a certain amount of time, lest The Doctor takes off in the tardis without them? i also dont get how they know the behavior of all the other sea creatures except Megalodon, the creature that should have the most obviously related behaviors to its modern day descendant? oh but who cares this is amazing :D
@greatianprince1064
@greatianprince1064 10 жыл бұрын
Elena Yule Ok but that doesn't make sense because 1: They can time travel, they have the freedom to go to literally any point in the species entire existence 2: extinction doesn't happen in the snap of a finger, especially in Megalodon's case since it was starved into extinction, so wouldn't that mean they have ample time to waste on the smaller juveniles?
