Boy has la Cruze changed. I sailed my Endeavour 40 down that way in 2007 before the marina was finished. Only the breakwater at that time. Wonderful small town Mexico. To bad Philos is no longer there. Best cruisers hang out on the Pacific side. Thanks for the video.

Perhaps more detail on the prop puller, ie how it was made, would be nice. ;
@sailingmilagro2 жыл бұрын
It was made out of 1/4 inch steel plate, turned on a lathe with a slot cut in it to fit over the shaft. 4 x threaded bar and nuts.

Nice video. I like the footage of the village. Also appreciate mentioning prices, like the laundry. How about the marina costs? And maybe what a meal or a beer costs? I couldn’t find that marina, my computer goes the a place on the Pacific north of PV…

Hi Dana, marinas in mexico are expensive and they are mainly full during the year. cost for a 42 foot boat is about US$1000 a month. Food costs , eating out are 200 pesos per person, can vary widely depending on where you eat..

Great film Kev...the beard suits you! Fish market looked the business. How long did it take to get the prop off once you had the puller on there?
@sailingmilagro2 жыл бұрын
Might be time for a clean shave soon. The prop came off after a few turns of the nuts . Easy.

There is a group of ladies who travel by RV -- all in their own RVs -- but travel together for safety. Since you are a solo sailor, I wonder if you also travel with others for safety.

Hi Kathy, sometimes I buddy boat with others , on a longer passage sometimes that is difficult to achieve as boats travel at different speeds and you can lose sight of your buddy boat but its good to know someone is relatively close. Also people have different views on what speed they like to keep up. If I drop below 4-5 knots I tend to turn the engine on. I like to get where I am going , in the weather window I have choosen.
