That's the reason I quit the game. I tried to finish the first mission three times. My ship was always destroyed by better equipped players and they waited for me to respawn at the ship to kill me over and over until I gave up and respawned at the village. I guess that's the thrill other people love about this game, finishing the first mission. I just play something else.

It's just not the game for you I guess. The developer put all these spontaneous encounters in the game. An open world play ground for everyone to play as you want. Some players just can't handle that I guess.

The pvp in sot is the reason I quit. I just wasn’t serious enough for it. I did meet some chill people tho and once had an entire server work together in an alliance. There is good and bad, you just really have to look for the good, because there is a lot more bad.

The game just isn't for you then. There is nothing inherently bad about Pvp. It's fun. I've made plenty of friends in the game through Pvping each other. It's just so many players think of Pvp as this toxic thing and it's absolutely not. It's fun.

Most players only have a few hours to play after work and seeing all those hours of looting go to another player who definitely has more than enough gold, is very disheartening. And that isn't to say that I haven't encountered some kind people in pvp, but I am SO glad that safer seas was introduced. I get going after someone who's obviously gotten time in the game, but not the BRAND new players, that's just cruel. I remember the first few times I played, I got sunk right away every time, without getting so much as one chest, I even resorted to swimming back to outpost with my singular chest. There is a reason the sea of thieves "community" is considered the most toxic. And before you go saying "the game isn't for you" I've logged probably 30 hours in high seas the last 6 days, and have enjoyed it now that I understood the game before going into a pvp zone

God, this comment section is sad. It's a bit annoying, but it's completely part of the game and not "sweaty" or "toxic" at all. Lmao. Rofl, even. Literally just watch the horizon, any ship you see is a threat. Run or fight, it's up to you, but it's part of the game. Honestly? The game would be a lot more boring without the looming threat of an enemy player or the prospect of finding a friendly crew. Literally? The best experiences in this game are with other players, whether friendly or hostile. With the obvious exception of spawn campers, toxic players and the ones that just start spewing curse words. But then again, those exist in any multiplayer game, unfortunately. And none of these bad options were seen in this video, it was literally a normal interaction, those were not new players and should've known better.

Everyone whining in these comments are just bad at SoT. These players are not new, they have PL cosmetics. They were not spawn camped. Sea of Thieves is a game about thieving upon the seas, believe it or not. I do agree that new players should be encouraged to keep playing, but not through false advertisement. So let me do it for you. DEAR NEW PLAYERS, This game IS punishing. If you grind for some loot for three hours and have it taken from you in the span of three minutes, YES it sucks, but please read titles of games before you play them. The fun of it is protecting your loot from other players and coming out on top in a fight you thought you had no chance of winning. There is no pay to win. Just pay to play, and then get better with time. Three quarters of the fun involves fighting other players, and the other quarter of it comes from the natural silliness of this pirate game. Let me reiterate: PIRATE. GAME. You play as pirates. You fight other pirates. Pirates are notorious for taking things that weren't theirs. Sincerely, a SoT player with 900+ hours.
