I wish Sea To Summit produced videos about the different setups, including putting the Alto up fly first in the rain. Your videos are the most helpful option.

I find one of the most delightful things you do is showing us how you fold the tents up and get them back in the bag. Amazing, many thanks

This is my first non-free-standing tent and I'm loving it so far. The extra ventilation is a game changer - having formerly been woken up by a (face) dripping inner when the temp dropped overnight, in an alleged 4 season tent, on more than one occasion. The only real downside I can see so far is, if you're on a multi-day hike, it can take longer to dry the tent as it's not as easily relocated to a sunny spot as a full free-standing tent. Thanks for the great vid - super helpful!

It's a great little tent, I reckon the pro's well outweigh the con of it not being quite as easy to move. ~ Ben

7:14 You say that without the two pegs at the end it wouldn't stand, but I found that to not be true. The tent actually stands fine without any single peg. However, the two pegs you pointed out are really necessary in order to space it out. Without them, it's very loose and there is little space around your head area. But it does stand :-)

If its Not Freestanding....Don't buy it...waste of money !!!

Totally depends on your requirements - semi freestanding tents have less framework, so are lightweight & ideal for the gram counters. Definitely not a waste of money. If you're after the fully freestanding version, thats called the Telos - video coming soon. ~ Lauren
