Hi Eivind, awesome video and pattern. I just tied one my self in a size 10 though as a dropper fly and it looks really good also in the water. However the grizzly feather tail is getting stock in the hook many times. Do you have a tip to avoid that?

Hi. It’s important to use “stiff” feathers. The feathers on the “sides” of the cape are usually stiffer and also you can tie this fly like Vaskebjørn in the back.

Hi Eivind! I love all the flies you tie with these grizzly soft hackles from Metz. I only have some Whiting Coq de Leon and I think the feathers you are using looks a lot more soft than mine. The whiting feathers I use looks very thin and stiff on my flies. So I was wondering if you know where to buy Metz Magnum Streamer Feathers grade#1, just like the ones you are using? I can't find them at nfisk.no... Hope you can help :-) I'm looking so much forward to your next fishing videos! Maybe in the spring time?? ;-) All the best frem Denmark!

Hi Rasmus. These Metz capes I use are not easy to get a hold of. I've bought them trough a shop in England. They have ordered in some ekstra for me from a company in USA that has the "agentur" to sell Metz. Its quite a complicated prosess. There not to be found in any shop. I would go for the American Rooster Cape Grizzly or Keough Saltwater. These are great. Also your CDL is a great cape. I planning to start filming in the start of March. its too cold here and the fjord is covered in sea ice. All the best, Eivind B.
