Bra spot det där, särskilt på vintern :)
@outdooroskar12573 жыл бұрын

Fantastic video!!!Really got me fired up for some freezing cold sea trout fishing off the west coast of Scotland,thank you!!Tell me,what are you wearing inside your waders?
@outdooroskar12573 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Glad you liked it^^ layer1. Merino wool layer2. Heavy duty fleece pants. layer 3. Car windscreen insulation sun cover ( it has many names😅) I cut it in half and wrap one half on each leg. But most importantly. BIG wader size. I have two waders, size medium and size XL. The medium size feels like I'm wearing skinny jeans and the neopren boot is too small, cant fit more than 1 thin and one thick merino sock. Not big enough. The size XL waders i can fit one thin and two thick socks in the boot and since they have a loose fit they trap more air keeping me warm.👍 said short i wear the same things under both waders but I'm only cold in the smaller size. Tight lines, loose waders ;D

Thanks Terry! Yeah, every now and then one can catch rainbow trout that have escaped from fish farms. Sadly sometimes they escape, usually, ironically, because animal rights activists relese them into nature. Where they can properly mess up the ecosystem. Like going up rivers and munch up all the trout eggs when they spawn.

@outdooroskar12573 жыл бұрын
Thanks! And sure, I purchased the net in a low price warehouse. And I've bent it to fit around my waste. It's attached and released by a stretchy belt with snap buckles. The Gopro mount i use here is the "Gopro clip fast clamp mount" which is usually on my sling pack. Then on the tip of the nets wooden handle I carved a shape that seems close to perfect for my Gopro mount to bite hold of. side note: pretty much always I have a 60cm string, with velcro tied in one end and the Gopro in the other end, just so i don't loose my cameras too easily anymore.

@outdooroskar12573 жыл бұрын

Is sea trout (sea run brown) fishing all year round or seasonal in Sweden? Foreign rainbow trout, haha, it must be an introduced steelhead aka sea run rainbow trout from North America, right? There is only a few tributaries that hold wild steelhead in the state I live in now, and it is illegal to keep wild steelhead and they are very hard to catch a wild one. That is my bucket list fish for sure. Would you make a artic char fly fishing video? I like your back country fishing video in Taiwan, that's my home country. Tight line.
@outdooroskar12573 жыл бұрын
Thanks Greg! Taiwan is awesome! The season for sea run browns in Sweden is 1 January (west coast, 1april) to 15 September. Rainbow trout is the most common fish to farm in the Baltic sea. Every now and then they escape those farms and start to live like the sea run brown. However they can't manage to reproduce in our rivers, so all they do is to go up rivers and eat the native sea run browns eggs and smelt. So if a rainbow is caught on the coast it's best to keep it, good food anyhow👍. I would definitely like to fly fish arctic char, and if I'm lucky i might do that this year. Tight lines!

Love the wading gear summary :D Do you have any link for the heavy duty and thin socks? Keep up the great content, I really enjoy the edition and the funny parts
@outdooroskar12573 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot! I don't have a link. But I know I use socks from smartwool. However the brand probably isn't important. I think the key is to use as much socks with loft (trapps air) as possible. Without making it too tight, definitely I want to be able to move my toes. Sometimes I've used a heavy synthetic sock too (outside thin merino socks) that works fine too. For this type of cold weather I would definitely focus on getting a much bigger size of waders so that the neopren sock is bigger. I happen to have two waders, same brand/model in L and XL. And the neopren sock in the XL is much bigger 👍

Hi this time of year i would say the "hottest time of the day would be afternoons. And I'd try a sunny day with not that much wind. And preferably not under 0 degrees Celsius in the air. Go for a lure that's possible to fish slow over shallow water. And go out just to have fun, this time of year if you catch a fish it should almost be seen as a bonus😎

cool video! are you happy with the volantis?
@outdooroskar12573 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I'm happy with it! Initially I thought the running line was too thin, it tangled a bit the first 15 min, then I stretched it with my arms a bit and no problem. The orange marking on the line was something I thought to be quite unnecessary. But I'm fishing with it right now. And it's 1°C and when I loose sensitivity in my fingers that marker is quite helpful. Only sort of negative thing so far is that it feels more stretchy than I'm used to. Bit tricky to feel if it's a hit or see weed. But that's just a minor concern. Great line👍
