@@alessandricedric1995LOL you should watch more of his full videos. Guy absolutely loves the beach and animals. Sand tracks get washed away literally after 5-10 waves. Notice how the tide is lower and much further away? It gives a good indicator that the turtle has been there for about 30-60 minutes at least. Wave probably washed the turtle in and the edge of its shell caught the sand and flipped over, or as it was returning to ocean from land a decent sized wave came in and pushed it back causing it to flip. That’s my guess. This happens to turtles all the time

You remembered wrong. 🤣 Female sea turtles come onto the beach in which they themselves hatched from to lay their own eggs. This video was filmed in Australia so I think these are olive ridley sea turtles. They nest 2 to 3 times per year so all the turtles you see in the video are likely female so there would be no mate waiting. Males do not follow females onto the beach and turtles aren't really the type to keep friends in the wild. Sea turtles are generally solidarity outside of breeding and laying their eggs. They don't mate for life and some will actually breed with multiple partners. Most sea turtles lay eggs every 2 or 3 years.

I'm honestly rather wondering if this was a fake video. How'd the turtle end up like that in the first place? There's likely some "natural" explanations and perhaps the people did indeed happen to come by and help. Where was this video taken? It looks like Costa Rica when the sea turtles come up to make their nests and lay their eggs. They come back every year to the same nest. Amazing!
