great update Gabriele, I'm sure you'll be able to get the right size. Thats very useful for me as I will encounter the same problem, so now I know there can be problems and I need to make sure the new one will fit the original cutout !

I would build up the frames on the boat with wood (that fits the new hatches) over the existing structure, cover it with fiberglass and use the hatches you ordered.

+Silvano Cometta thx Silvano! Can’t do it. The result is far away from the origin and destroy the line of the boat...

I'm refitting on a shoestring so thats how I did it...old hatches, new plexi...I get the idea of the boats lines though!

One mistake per month for the rest of the year and you’ll have a perfect boat done on time. I am one to make that many mistakes in a week. No substitute for the part that fits perfectly. Return and reorder. Only way to go.

Gabriele, I'm sorry to hear that the new hatches won't work. Too bad there wasn't a way to cross check the compatibility before ordering them. I think the company should have a customer send them a tracing of the corner radius before finalizing an order. That way mistakes could be avoided. Scott

why not make a spacer from wood and use the hatches you already bought.

+michael close hi Michael! No way another piece of wood to pay attention and varnish sometimes... the angle of the hatch always come too out and must be dangerous

Hello Gabriele. Please remind your alter ego that each mistake you share is one less mistake for your followers to make later. :) I wondered if you considered correcting the radius in the fiberglass with a router and if so why that was unacceptable in your situation. Best regards, Jack.
@sea4see6 жыл бұрын
Hi jack ! Thx for your comment! I can’t correct the radius because the hatch when closed the angle is out of the support and the line could be blocked
