I would build up the frames on the boat with wood (that fits the new hatches) over the existing structure, cover it with fiberglass and use the hatches you ordered.

I'm refitting on a shoestring so thats how I did it...old hatches, new plexi...I get the idea of the boats lines though!

One mistake per month for the rest of the year and you’ll have a perfect boat done on time. I am one to make that many mistakes in a week. No substitute for the part that fits perfectly. Return and reorder. Only way to go.

Gabriele, I'm sorry to hear that the new hatches won't work. Too bad there wasn't a way to cross check the compatibility before ordering them. I think the company should have a customer send them a tracing of the corner radius before finalizing an order. That way mistakes could be avoided. Scott

why not make a spacer from wood and use the hatches you already bought.

Hello Gabriele. Please remind your alter ego that each mistake you share is one less mistake for your followers to make later. :) I wondered if you considered correcting the radius in the fiberglass with a router and if so why that was unacceptable in your situation. Best regards, Jack.

Hi jack ! Thx for your comment! I can’t correct the radius because the hatch when closed the angle is out of the support and the line could be blocked
