2:24 we used to walk along the "wall of death" and climb up each step until the highest point looking down at the cat & dog steps as young teens in the 80's & 90's, they've put a pile of dirt and soil there now to block it and prevent people from doing that, probably just as well tbh...great video love the old postcards.

Thanks for the historic stroll. I remember the trams along the front in the early 1950s, the first illuminations after the war and I have passed many an hour in a smoky Notrianni's café. It's good to see that the beach and the sea are as beautifully as ever.

I'm so pleased you liked it - I'm still getting used to longer videos so thank you! Roker and Seaburn must have been so different in the 1950s to now ☺️

absolutely amazing. i currently helping to restore an old William bell designed railway building in city center. we would love you to check us out. i am trying so hard to find the history of these great Sunderland buildings. my ancestors worked for north east railways many years ago.

Hi, I'd love to check it out! What is the building called? I know there's not a lot of information about some of our great buildings, it's probably all tucked away somewhere!
