Unless you need a log splitter for splitting wood, you are WAY better off using a regular press. I didn't watch the whole video, so I don't know what he said about the splitter, but a log splitter has WAY more flex than even a crappy press. This job is way quicker, easier and safer using a basic shop press.

I've got a 951 that drowned... never been in a rotax before so it will be my first. I have another 951 I need to replace the inner crankshaft seals on. Was hoping you would point those out.... but I do definitely appreciate the video! I have never pulled a crankshaft apart but I've got a 30 ton hydraulic press and Harbor Freight is not too far away!!!

Great video. I opened up an old waverunner 500 today and the bearings are are all rusted. I have a wood splitter so I just might give it a try.

Be careful they can be tricky and things can fly. I made some fixtures to hold things better and now use a shop press.

I love Bombardier but this crankshaft is another perfect example of why i bang my head against the wall when fixing their products. Nothings keyed and multiple items need perfect spacing. Such a pain in the ass.

Thank- you for the great video ! I was curious if you have ever used dry ice to shrink things for easier dissasembly I have a smaller press & thinking getting things cold could help make things a little less difficult to get apart & back together

I have used dry ice in fact check out my video on resleeving an engine.

Keep in mind that it only works when the two parts are separated so you can cool the one and heat the other. If the parts are assembled they both shrink together.

Great video! Can you tell me what part number seals go in the middle section on either side of the balancer gear. Sea-doo doesn't list them on their parts diagram. They want me to buy the whole assembly.
