SeaDoo Fish Pro Garmin Transducer - Leaking Seal Replacement - Part 1

Did you get the new "red" seal from Garmin or Sea Doo? I tried to buy one from Garmin and they sent me the red o-ring that sits on top of the transducer housing. Do you have a part number?

The red one is what you want. The yellow it the earlier one.

Here is the fix, I have the crappy design as well 2021 Garmin Headache. Pull the transducer out. Take the tube off. Get a new seal. Get ultrasound gel from Amazon. Place seal on transducer, before placing it in the hold mount fill the void with the ultrasound gel. Pack the hose with just an inch or two of gel, but don’t place it yet on the nipple. With the transducer housing packed with gel, place the transducer and seal into placement. As you push down, gel will squeeze out the nipple. Place the hose and new zip tie or hose clamp. Next drill two holes at the 9 o’clock and 3 o’clock position and screw in, two small half inch stainless steel screws. Cut the tube off about six inches pass the nipple, place a wood dowel in it and use a stainless steel small band clamp around tube encasing the wood dowel. You will never have to add anti-freeze for the remainder of the life of the ski.

Hi Bill, Had the same problem on our Seadoo Fishpro 2021 Garmin transducer. But noticed it was an air bubble pushing about an inch of fluid out of the end of the resevoir tube during every trip. So I fitted a translucent bottle with screw top and submersed the end of the tube in about an inch of the same fluid in the bottle. Hey presto, level stays constant

Thst is a great idea also get us a big reservoir for the fluid too.

thank you for posting this! I just bought my '19 and the depth had horizontal bars across it. My reservoir was very low and just replaced it, is there a way to check the depth function is working when it's out of water?

Humm .. the thing needs to shoot its signal thru the hull and thru water and then get the reflected signal back. It cant shoot a signal thru air. I think that some people have removed the transducer and then put it in a bucket of water to shoot to the bottom of the pail and back, but I have never tried that. I go to the lake and give it a go.

Hummm .. have not measured that seal because it is not an o-ring, but is a special stepped cross section component. Get it from your Seadoo parts person. Tell they you need the transducer seal. The new one is purple/redsish. The old model is yellow.

Hi, my 2020 fish pro depth finder is not reading, it just keeps blinking without number showing up. Do you know if it caused by insufficient fluid or something else? Thank you

You mean no number at all, like that depth field where the number goes is blank? Is there a text part that says "ft" but no number? Is your unit mated to the red and black plugs that should stick out from the mount by about 1/4 inch? Sometimes the plugs get pushed back into the mount and they don't seat properly in the main display unit itself. If that happens the unit isn't getting the proper a electrical connection and that can cause problems. I have had bad fluid levels and the depth field does not hold but blinks the sam number. Also, every once in a while it for some reason loses the bottom and I have to slow down just a little bit or swerve and then the readings start displaying properly.

Same for my 2020 fish pro. Blinking and no depth. Reads shallow at 5ft but I know I’m in deeper like 20ft of water. Constantly reading 5ft. When I set to 10ft is shows 5ft, when I manually set at 30ft, it doesn’t show a depth. Please let me know what you think. Thank you

@@baegsxr It appares that the liqiud in tansducer is low, so just top it up, the issue will be fixed

Update. It was low. Added marine antifreeze and it works great now. Thanks for your help.

The new seal worked a little better. But after four trips again I needed to fill the transducer. Disappointed

I hear you!! - 2 things -- Sometimes the vinyl tube that is pushed onto the nipple at the bottom of the transducer housing will not seal well around the nipple. My recollection is that that nipple is NOT barbed making the tube able to slide on it. Go Figure. Anyway, take off any existing zip tie and pup another one on. It will be hard to do if you have big hands like i do, but it is doable. Another thing is that those vertical wing clips done seem to fixture the top onto the housing very well. That top of the transducer actually has holes around it for small screws to screw it to the housing like they do in the boats. I added these little screws and the problems are no more ... It ws a PITA for me adn many others how these things dont seem to hold fluid. I think some people remove the fluid and use a gel like for ultrasounds.
