We tried the legendary Seabelle Restaurant in La Mercy. It was a hearty meal indeed and enough for a whole family. We were eating seafood for days.

The fist time my husband and I visited was in 2004 on Valentine's day,the place was full to capacity with dinner and dance ,,,we ordered 2 serving of prawn curry n rice ,,we were surprised at how huge the servings was. Even the hake ,chips n prawns is Devine. We always visited sea Belle again n again for supper or lunch. My hubby passed on n I never went back there again 😢

I've noticed the restaurant has been renovated cos it's looks more spacious now,, my hubby n I were well know patrons at that place ,even had a free meal once, the waitors was always happy to see us as we entered through their door, as much as I miss my spouse,,,Seabelle will never be forgotten nor erased from my mind ,too many beautiful memories cherished in my heart 🙏

I used to go there from Umzinto for the crab or prawn curry and used to stay at the LA Mercy Beach hotel. Up to today I have not come across a crab or prawn curry to beat what Seabelle chefs make. Moved to Cape Town 24 years ago, one can only dream about a curry like that here. When I visit I have a sister in Scotsburgh who makes a good crab curry. Will definitely visit when I am there again.

After watching your video, twice, we went to Seabelle Restaurant with expectations of delicious, authentic Durban seafood and curry cuisine. Guys, please, if you taking this much time and effort to compile a video, make it an honest review. Apart from the shabby establishment, the food was nowhere close to "epic". We ordered a variety of dishes, ranging from the prawn curry (more like chutney) to the fish curry to meat dishes and even a seafood platter. Prawn curry : 4/10. Mutton curry: 3/10. Seafood platter : 4/10. Fish curry : 4/10. The kitchen declined to make the seafood platter for R520 claiming it takes too long to prepare crayfish. Service was rushed, waiters for in a tizz and there was zero ambience. A disclaimer would be nice, at the end of your video, that it is indeed a paid advertisement and as such, your content may be biased in favour of the establishment being promoted. Take some notes from Keeran Nadas and his honest reviews.
