I think i got lucky this time and ended up with a non fake by what every one has been telling me. At the time i do remember reading at least the reviews on AliExpress before purchasing but yes i was still green around the gills at the time to i guess i just got lucky. I was a month late, I apologize for that! As far as I know, the movements in those watches are original Sea-Gull, although the rest is manufactured by a third party. There are several versions on this matter, some claim that they are 100% counterfeit watches (including the movements), others say no and there are even those who claim that they are manufactured under license. But with the opacity of the Chinese industry anything can be possible! What I don't understand is why a Sea-Gull clone watch costs up to a third of the original Sea-Gull, if it is true that the movement is original. Cheers!

It’s all good Alex there is never a bad time for you to jump in. I appreciate the break down. Yea it can be confusing sometimes but I’m ok with what I have now. I had a supporter send me in an ordinal watch and the finishing isn’t so far off so I’m happy with what I have at days end. And I guess that’s all that matters 😅. I’m going to be taking a close look at them to confirm my suspicions soon though and make a review video for it. Stay tuned 😉

L'originale prodotto direttamente da Seagull ha il fondello chiudo con l'incisione della stella rossa e le varie scritte , l'originale era ben diverso da questo che viene riprodotto nel 1965 che nel tempo ha subito diverse modifiche apportate da terzi assemblatori , non basta prendere un calibro st19 e assemblarlo su una cassa con un quadrante più o meno simile . Ha una storia complicata e nebulosa , da ricerche accurate sul web c'è qualcosa che cerca di risolvere i dubbi

Yea I intentionally purchased a non conventionally looking version. After much feed back and further research it would appear that I have more of homage version that is licensed to produce the movement. So not a fake but more a clomage. If its Sugess or its sister brand red star its a legit movement, licensed by seagull, wether seagull make the movement or another company make it under licence I'm not sure. Why the big price disparity between seagull and the others again not sure, do they regulate or put extra work into the movements again not sure. JOMW touched on this subject when he did a reveiw on the seagull bronze anniversary edition, so you might want to check out that video. Myself have a number of redstars and sugess and they've been great (only one had a problem, a base plate screw came loose, but an easy fix). Cheers.
