I lived there when it was a girls lock up at the front of Greystones, it’s been pulled down. If you we good you got moved to greystones for good behaviour. I was there in 1982-1984. Lock in the dorms on a night from 9pm until 7pm next morning. I was put in, for running away from different homes to be with my mam and dad, sisters and brother. The more I ran the further away they moved me. Until there I was locked in. I’m a vegetarian and was starving all the time. Plate of beans or peas with bread. Toast. Cereal. That’s the nice stuff about the place. Rest is all bad.

Oh god was in there when it was a remand home 1971 I was 14 and classed as a runaway. It was an awful place.
