Dirk Bogarde is indeed my favorite actor. The first film I had seen him in a film I thought instantly, "This man sure can entertain." I applaud him to the highest degree.

To think Dirk was never nominated for an Oscar the courage it took for Dirk to make Victim in1961 at the height of his film stardom and then to follow it up with The Servant two years after Victim is rather incredible I’m glad Darling director Joh Schlesinger didn’t cut Dirk out of the film like he had planned Julie Christie won aOscar and Dirk won a Bafta

I have read many of Dirks bios and seen some of his films -of his 60s films Dirk said"I,m arthouse,not box office" I always respected Dirk for wanting to take on stronger material knowing the career risk involved in doing so.not many actors of that era would have taken that risk-Dirk was a better actor than he was ever given credit for
