2:19:10 if you watch the all access the Seahawks put out, on that first interception in the red zone, geno said he tried throwing it out of bounds but his arm was hit. So I believe it may not be bad decision making

Do you guys remember the level of roster churn we seen when Schneider and Carroll took over? Iwas expecting something similar. We did get a little roster churn, but not to that extent. Do you think it was just the market not being in the same spot as '09 or do you think they where trying to limit the turnover?
@ODwyer09
@ODwyer09 20 күн бұрын
I think they wanted a year to assess the current roster under a new coaching staff. I think we'll see more turnover this off-season with how bad the oline and some players on defense have played

I think Trevor, they thought the team could be better than they have been. I think they thought the young talent would come together, and that the good young talent they had was different from when they took over back in '09. But I do think they're realizing now, they're assessment of the team wasn't quite right, and we might be back to heavy churn this offseason.

Great read on it, John. That's where I stand. The supporting parts should be bringing more to the greater whole. Now, what does that mean for fixing it or how to fix? I'm not sure. In many ways it makes the picture of how to fix this even more unclear. That plucky AZ team, they kind of got me thinking.

Do we think, If Geno goes to an NFL team with an Oline Russ had coming in, that he becomes a HOFer
@TheHawksNest12thman
@TheHawksNest12thman 18 күн бұрын
I''m not sure. That's a great question. Quarterback talents and ability and refining that ability matters, but also where you land, the conditions, set up succeed or fail also factors in.

So I’ll respond to my DK trade comment. I’m glad we can have a difference in opinion and talk about how we can improve the team that we love. I love the team so much that if DK proves me wrong and he turns a corner then good! I’d rather eat crow and be successful than spiteful. That being said.. This team is soft, we talk about how we need to build up the trenches and be the bullies again. Yet we have one of the worst offensive lines in the league and can barely stop the run on defense. How do we pay good OL players to come here, especially If a good portion of our cap is paying a good WR, elite money? DK is a good WR, he can take a top off a defense and is a game breaker. But what the pouting and slouching when it doesn’t go his way? There is a reason why DB’s flame DK after games and it’s because he plays the head games. He doesn’t have the best hands and isn’t route savant and not having those won’t age well as DK gets older. If you want physical team that we’ve wanted. You have to invest in it. Overpaying a for a good wide receiver, who’s skill set won’t age well, is kind of counterproductive to that team you wanna be. If you want a flashy toy that keeps you middling, then sure.. I just don’t understand how you can get upset about the construction of the team when you wanna overpay a WR, that gets no where closer to being tougher in the trenches. It’s way harder to find good trenches players than skill players. You can find value WR’s in the 2nd round, like DK and Tyler. You can find UDFA WR’s like Baldwin, Kearse, Bobo, Cody White. When was the last time we found a diamond in the rough trench player?

I appreciate your perspective on this CJ, and as you said, there is always room for a difference of opinion. I have had discussions with folks regarding DK, and like your trek in your statement, there is a general belief that we have to let DK go so that we can build up the offensive line, and that that can't get that done if DK is re-signed, or not done to the degree required to fix it. And I'm if mispresenting, let me know. But I think you can do both. Tyler Lockett would be the guy in our receiving core who is not giving us the bang for buck. Now he doesn't pout, but he also isn't anywhere near effective as DK. Lockett is making more in salary than DK this year. Why not move off him to improve the line? As I mentioned on the stream, the big issue I have with folks calling DK a little better than average or merely good, is if that's the case why is he one of the most doubled team wide receivers in the sport on a yearly basis? To me this is the bottom line. The average Seahawks fan who is not in on DK longterm will say he's just alright, not worth the money, but the defensive coordinators to a man throughout this league seem to highly disagree with this take by how they guard DK Metcalf. That doesn't add up for me, but I don't mind disagreement, and I do appreciate where you're coming from. We can build this line without having to take away DK. John needs to make it a priority. That's the big problem, that's why it hasn't been fixed for years, not because we're putting too much money into the receiving core.

@ I’m not saying moving on from DK is an easy choice. I just think myself, you guys and many fans have talked about the construction of this team and are dissatisfied with it. I agree with you guys on the Chargers model, they’re building inside to out and that requires sacrifice in other areas. The Chargers let their two best WR’s go and now they’re more consistent, have a run game and a winning record. We are wildly inconsistent and are nervous about the direction of the team while the Chargers have a path they we all want to be on. I just believe that it is so much easier to replace a WR than an OL. The WR position, in most drafts and FA period is pretty deep. Look how many WR’s were moved around the trade deadline for peanuts. Thank you for responding and being respectful. I disagree with you but I still appreciate your content and opinion 🙂

@@CJK04 Always, it's never lip service even when I'm being cantankerous, disagreement's always welcome here. You're right about the Charger model, which is why Harbaugh was my number one pick for head coach this offseason. The Seahawks took a different approach, which is important, mainly for the offensive side of the ball. Harbaugh doubled back down on running the football, brought in run heavy OC Mark Roman to execute and they made the choice to move on from two receivers who had two different issues. Mike Williams couldn't stay healthy, and Allen was 32-years old and I think his hamstring had them concerned in the long term. I also think there's a big difference between Keenan Allen, Mike Williams and DK Metcalf and their impact on gameday. Macdonald went with a spread style system offensively, or literally the opposite of Harbaugh's choice, thus more of requirement for true playmakers on the outside. I would say, even if they went with Harbaugh, that a WR that can force Cover-2 high shells, rather than allowing an eight man in the box, also aids a running game hugely. It's why I lean on mention these double team rates, as it's not just the double teams he pulls, but the pre-snap coverages he forces with that. Hawks' can't take advantage of that right now because their blocking is atrocious, but it is a helpful advantage that part of the offense.

Schneider needs to just now be the first GM to LITERALLY go full madden mode and yes sign two shit maybe even 4 30 something year old vets and start packaging em up and just trade who gives a fuck I'm sorry but don't move because I'd trade em over and over. See if you can get other players or top 10 picks. Fuck it package up oh I dunno the guy who got his jaw wired shut by his own lineman on the sideline..yes Geno. Could've had a basically 2 time hiesman winner Mayfield for not 100 million to GENO SMITH. Cam Ward. Back to Washington state since ATL seen Seattle was gonna get Penix

All I hear are excuses. Even the Seahawks and the coaches believed they could win a lot of games, make the playoffs and have a chance to make the super bowl. Now all the sudden everyone is running cover for them. What is Geno Smith's record verses the 49ers? It's about to get one game worse, that's not how you win the division. At least try with a more mobile quarterback to makeup for the weaknesses in the offensive line. If you guys are suggesting not to expect much, than that's exactly what you'll get. That's a losing mentality.

@@gamezonereactions8388 I have been saying this about him all season. I did not watch this until after the game. There is literally nothing he could do at this point to convince people who don’t like him, to like him. You can’t convince someone who has already made up their mind. You guys are just so blinded by your conformation bias every time he makes a mistake, that you are unwilling to acknowledge all the good stuff he does.
