You are correct, that is a special moment with Pete, but as the interview was coming to an end I was thinking how almost every word out of his mouth represented his Zen approach, considering some coach speech is necessary, and unfortunately he won't tell us his plans. Will he or won't he draft a QB? Nothing he said gave a clue, except he doesn't explicitly lie, so he must actually admire a number of these QB's mentals. That doesn't mean he will draft them. He is aware of all the talent that will come out next year, too. They are way ahead of us.

Bro... Geno is starter here for two years MAX. Let's wait until the official details are released, but preliminaries indicate that it's 3-$75 with $30 incentives, Hawks have outs after '23 & '24. It's team and player friendly, if Geno balls out he will make bank and earn another contract. But he's 33 starting the year, will be 36 the 1st year you extend him beyond this contract and that doesn't sound like Pete and John. Geno is a bridge to whoever they draft #5. He's Alex Smith. Nothing wrong with Alex Smith, but he's not winning you championships.

After i seen what Derek Carr and Daniel Jones got, I am happy with this contract. This contract doesn't make us tied to him and we can still potentially take a top QB in the draft and he can learn from Geno over the next 2 years.

Yea, but he seems to understand the lack of talent at the top except QB, and I'm not sure "his" QB will be there at 5 or if any of them are "his" QB so, then we have a decision: trade down or take the best of them like Tyree or Whoever. Personally, if they can trade down for even a small compensation they can still, probably get their guy.

It's good to hear that this QB class is has great traits and is very affluent in how to play the position, even if we don't pick one up (still hoping we get QB 2024), I would love to have higher level QB play in the league. We are closing one era out with the Russ, Brady, Rodgers etc and a new one is just beginning with the young talent. It would be great if every team had a playoff capable QB, better for us fans. I was against the Geno deal when people were saying it was 50m+ guarantied, now that we are hearing it is so incentive driven I am all for it. That is perfect not just for Seahawks, but for Geno. He seems to thrive in adversity and I personally hopes he earns all those incentives. The cap is fungible if you got good players.

If Carter is available We NEED to take him. Finding Edge rushers is easy. Carter is the best Interior DL prospect in a long time. His off the field issues are blown way out of proportion, he wasn't drunk and he didn't crash. We haven't had a great DT since Cortez Kennedy. Mebane was good not great. Adding Carter will instantly make our Defense much better. I thinking cutting Woods sets the stage to get Carter and he should be there, assuming 3 QBs come off the board and Anderson is taken by Cards..that leaves us Carter who was the consensus #1 overall player all off season until recent weeks

Could the entire Seahawks organization be this happy if they didn't have confidence in the draft ahead? To me that means that future doesn't include any of these QB's except perhaps Richardson, if he now falls, but not knowing if he falls would freak them out, so even Richardson. So maybe they really like one of the guys who didn't come out this year. Or maybe they like Hooker or the QB from Georgia. Stetson Bennett? Who names their kid after a hat?

I'm a Colts fan who lives in the NPW and sees every Seahawk game on TV... Colts are 100% going to draft a QB. If they trade up to #1, they will take Stroud and MAYBE Richardson lasts to 5. If they sit at 4 the Colts are going to take Richardson, leaving Levis for Seattle. If the Hawks want Richardson, they are going to have to trade to 3 to get him; if they want someone else, they need to give up a lot of assets to get to 1. Colts GM Ballard HATES giving up assets to move up, so Seattle needs to work a deal with the Cardinals at 3 if they want Richardson.

If you remember there was a lot of DK Metcalf hype before the draft after his crazy combine workout and everyone thought he was a top 15 pick. That Super Bowl changed everything. Pete still out here saying he could’ve done things better and everyone would’ve prospered. If he could’ve seen past Russ, tried not to glorify him and establish him as a superhero MVP for that game, then Marshawn would’ve gotten the ball and the Hawks would’ve likely won the superbowl. On the other hand, Russ still blames Pete, not just because they lost, but because Russ got “embarrassed”. Everyone talks about it to this day. Russ instead of taking it upon him, still blames Pete why he never became a MVP and “failed” him.
