The Seattle Seahawks made changes to their coaching staff in order to bring a spark to the franchise. Those hires definitely did that as the Seahawks are in the middle of a seismic shift in strategy. The Seahawks are thinking differently than their competition, and it could result in a big benefit for Seattle. Fans of the Seattle Seahawks should be excited by this news.

With all the college coaches coming to the seahawks, They're going to have a great idea who to draft, and how good these players are.

It’s crazy when you think about it recycling the same coaches over and over they all had to start somewhere. The paradigm is changing in college football which greatly affects the NFL. Those younger innovative coaches that can strategically adapt to this transition will have great opportunities now. John made a A+ move

@troyratliff4501 You nailed it. That’s the approach they are taking this time around. They’re not just promoting in-house coaches either just cause they were buddies with Pete and were simply not up to snuff. I think Nick nailed it with his comment about the rule change in terms of the NFL only allowing seniors of 4 years of collegiate football to declare for the draft. Many times there are lots of juniors out there who are just as ready as the seniors. But why is this comment by Nick so important and relevant, because look at all the younger coaches we have who have worked with lots of college players. When Pete came to us in 2010, he had his nose in on everything as far as talent, players, and where to go find it since he was fresh off the college levels. That’s why he drafted so well the first 2-3 years. These coaches we added, John said if yesterday on 710am. That they won’t go to the combine. They will stay here and get ready to know each other and start working on getting ready for what’s ahead. But he just cause they won’t be there, doesn’t mean he didn’t mention the coaches won’t have a say about what players they could bring in. And right now, all these coaches we added, they know what players they could get because they’re in the exact same position Pete was 14 years ago. Andrew is right. Many young college coaches are tired of the whole NIL crap and just want to ascend to the NFL. Don’t be surprised if they end up drafting the core for the next dynasty of the league in the next 2-3 drafts.

I would rate a B- for now and ask again at the end of next season. One thing I like is that they have a mix of young college coaches (Rookies) and seasoned coaches (Vets) and there are many benefits to the model. One, the young (& vets) are 'teachers" they can teach the players (I think this is what happened in Seattle, no/poor teaching). 2. The young coaches can learn from vet coaches (what to do & what not to do). 3. Doesn't cost the organization much (cheaper) like paying rookies. 4. Younger generation can think outside the box and are not tied to one paradigm, willing to try new things. Are they going to make mistakes, yes. But that is a learning lesson or teachable moment. I like it so far.

If we can put together a BEASTLY defense, we can make use of a very good quarterback. Geno showed me that he is a very good quarterback who can put points on the board. He put together some great drives, but they were cancelled out on the opposition’s NEXT DRIVE. If Geno was playing on a team with an impenetrable defense, we would have had a VERY successful season last year. We were too easy to score against, and that’s on the defense.

I think I would rate the coaching stuff a B, there’s a lot of good talent and production from these coaches but not a lot of experience, so I really think only time can tell actually how good they’ll be. Saying that though, potential to easily move up to an A

I think these moves for young, innovative coaches that are light on NFL experience are the only play when you cut ties with someone like Pete Carrol.

I'm giving our couching staff an A. A balanced blend of youth and experience. NFL has been trending towards young offensive coaches. The way to get ahead of the curve is with young defensive coaches.
