I wish Huell would have visited Harbour Surf Shop on Main Street and said hello to Rich.

Huell was amazing. He really knew how to find interesting things everywhere around you. And he knew how to talk to him. What always amazed me is he doesn't have any real cuts or edits. He rolls camera, you see it all, he doesn't pick and choose. Miss ya Huell.

Yea KCET and Chapman seem to both be incapable of adding dates to his shows. I have to figure the years based on clothing and Huells arm muscle size.

The weekend we moved to SB they were filming Knight Rider down by the pier. Grandma's and the Cookie Nook were always fun too, up until curfew. I met Huell on my 21st bday on the Santa Monica pier and was living in Los Al at the time. I kept bumping into him after that. Wonderful person with childlike wonder and a warm heart.

Used to have a lot of fun night surfing next to the pier back in the 80's and that warm water in the jetty was really nice when the waves were large enough.

I went to Seal Beach many many times, for swimming and fishing. I used to ride my bike from Norwalk to Seal Beach during the summer when I was 11 and up. Times have changed, nice to see Seal Beach hasn't much.

As the saying goes --- "If you love what you do, you'll never work a day in your life." Huell never worked a day in his life. He absolutely loved what he did and he did it extremely well. Also, I live in Huntington Beach and one of my favorite things to do is to drive along PCH and into Seal Beach. No freeways, just the ocean and the salty air in my face. Love it!

In 1965 or 66, there was a “store” on Main Street called Strawberry Fields. They sponsored a Love-In on the Beach. So sometimes it wasn’t always like Mayberry RFD, it was like hippie Ville next to the Naval Weapons Station. I was one of two teenagers that lived on the base.

My routine in the 90s: Go hang out at my buddy's place on 11th Street. Skateboard down to the beach, do some tricks in the parking lot left of the pier. Skate back to 7/11, get a slurpee. Watch the short cop harass taller guys (me included). Skate down to bar, drink. Skate back to my buddy's. Say goodbye and drive back to HB.
