"That completes the bleeding exercise". The script writers mush have had a smile on their faces writing all this :-)

Hi, I have been trying your procedure on my Dad's old Jack. It's about 30 years old but looks exactly the same as the one in your video. I followed both Bleeding and refilling instructions and what I am experiencing is the jack is lifting but is spongy and will not hold any weight. I have done the bleeding procedure about 20-30 times (my arms are killing me now). Is there anything else I can try or do you keep on going until it works? Thanks for the videos! (and hopefully an answer to the questions)

+Suresh Bopitiya Thanks for your comments. You could try raising the Jack arm, then open the release valve fully. Then force the jacking arm down and then tighten the release valve. Try this a few times to dispel any trapped air. Then bleed in the normal manner shown in the video. If this fails, it would need to be assessed by a hydraulic specialist as there could be a faulty seal or valve. Hope this helps you out.Regards

Otherway round for my vintage Trolley Jack. You have to CLOSE the valve (as if your lowering the car) to bleed. Opening the valve is where you have it to LIFT the car! Interesting!

my jack rises but does not hold a load too, its not a sealey though, guess ill try draining oil see if dirty grainy rust in it or sand, then seals might be bad , water in oils somtimes, some ball vavle , one way valve might have dirt in it or rusted, i guess, or air in system as shown here,
