You can sand your cup with 400 grit sanding paper then continue coating your cup with brite tone. But if your coats are streaky & uneven that means your coats are too thick & you are over working your cup. Coats should be added thin. & add your coat quickly and let the cup spin & self level.

@MelissaCrafter4 жыл бұрын
Hello & thanks for watching. And no worries we were ALL once new to this lol.. Crystalac products take 30 days to fully cure meaning it will continue to harden within those 30 days. The cups are okay for light use after 5-7 days though :) Once I’m done with a cup I usually let it sit for a couple days before using or shipping it to its new owner. When shipping I like to wrap the cup in parchment paper and then bubble wrap before putting in a box that way it stays safe. I also add a note with cup care instructions. If you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to ask :)

Hello and thanks for watching (: so yeah , there is a big difference from 2 to 4 coats. The first couple of coats are not really noticeable, I mean there’s a gloss but not enough. With brite tone you build up the gloss . So the more coats, the more glossy your cup will be. Hope this helps (:

@MelissaCrafter4 жыл бұрын
You can purchase the brite tone from the crystalac company. Here’s the link for it thecrystalacstore.com/collections/tumbler-products/products/brite-tone-instrument-finish. It’s also in my video description. The polyurethane.. if your talking as bout the extreme protection... is a little more thinner. I know a lot of people use it to start up the gloss or to glitter. The brite tone is higher in solids so you can build up the gloss quicker .

Hi, I added cricut adhesive foil and holographic vinyl to my starbucks tumbler and was wondering what's the best way to seal the vinyl? I'm afraid to use it because the vinyl doesn't seem to stick very well. Also, I wiped the tumbler with alcohol before applying the vinyl but did not sand it. I appreciate your help.

you can coat with just brite tone. a light sand is recommended... then adding coats until you’re satisfied with the gloss finish. always waiting 3-4 hours between coats (:

Question...... I’m inpatient, can I dry it with a hairdryer instead of letting dry by itself?
@MelissaCrafter3 жыл бұрын
No .. it will not dry properly & also will cause lint fly onto your cup .

do you need to sand like you do with epoxy? I am mostly looking for ways to seal vinyl.
@MelissaCrafter4 жыл бұрын
Give them a light sand with a high grit sanding paper (400 grit is what I use).. avoid the Starbucks logos if you want to keep those on your cup. Wash with soap and water and air dry. Hope this helps (:

Melissa Crafter so do you sand before putting the brite tone? Or during the layers of brite tone?
@MelissaCrafter4 жыл бұрын
You can give it a light sand around the Starbucks logos, apply your vinyl & start coating . If you add glitter you can sand every 3 coats
