Sealing our roof + adding 2500W on a Skoolie // Skoolie Build Ep. 9

I promised we're motoring on. This week is no exception and I absolutely refuse to let a little (a ton... a literal monsoon) of rain deter me from getting stuff done on this bus.
Since getting the roof rails secured, The next logical step is painting the roof. We've used Henry Durabrite this go around and I'm not at a point to suggest or not suggest you using something similar. The bus is parked outside in the rain this week so I'll check in with you next week to let you know my thoughts.
2 coats on the sides and 3 in the center looked really good. It's by no means a single coat system like Tropi-cool, but what can you do if you want to avoid siliconized coatings...
Then we installed solar panels that are literally taller than Mariajosé. POWER! They're 415W each for a system total of 2490W. That is unless we add our 2 remaining panels, who knows.
Lastly, I used the CNC to predrill and carve to perfection our skylights. More on those later. Everything is always a bit of trial and error and I'm still not an expert on the CNC, but I'm truly learning to love milling and machining on it.

Survey says.....Keep the white on the roof, and color below the drip rail. Body needs to be something fun and exciting, just like the ones that will be living inside this thing. Who says it can only be one color?? If this Chase guy can do snow art, he can def do bus art. He needs to get out his tape and make some designs and have at it. Or...Find some street art peeps on the Tube and bring them in for a calab and get a paint job at the same time. Don't think anybody's done that yet. That would be ultra cool!! Good work on the solar! Those are some mighty fancy panels. Almost 2500 watts should keep you powered up pretty well, especially with a nice size lithium bank. Roof top storage rack sounds like a great idea, especially if it has a diamond shield floor. Imagine all that you could carry on up there!! Some power ports would be sweet as well, just in case you need to charge any of your stored items while you're parked. Maybe even some nice lighting, just in case you need to be up there in the dark to retrieve any of your stored gear. In the end though, this bus belongs to you guys. It needs to be whatever you need it to be, and however you need it to be. Random comments from random viewers are only as useful as you want them to be.

Honestly, I think maximum power is preferable to "storage deck" space, but that's me. You do you. Also, three colors would chop up the looks of the bus, I think the white, plus one other color is plenty and you decide how far down to bring or leave the white. A home on wheels....hmmm what about log cabin color warm woody brown, or a rich, but not too dark sage green? Again, you do you, but here's the comment you asked for. :)

I love the two tone! I think a dark hunter or forest green or even a dark royal or navy blue, somewhere in that area would look good with the white roof and I think it would look good like a gold metal accents, like latches and handles things of that nature

Couple things 1) I am with Mariajose. Chase edit your video, I miss you guys. As for power, more power, the better. I would hate for your power to blow like it did in the other bus. As for color. I don’t know why, but all I can see is an ombre effect. However, I am thrilled about the last couple videos you posted.

If l was going to paint a the bus l’d go for a silver or grey exterior. Might do the window uprights in black, not sure. The contrast with the black wheels and while roof will be cool. Max out on solar for me, you can never have enough available power.

Personally I don't see your vision for a silver or grey exterior for the bus, honestly those colours to me would look a bit too much like how I'd picture a prison bus to look. We want cheery.
