Great vid, love the mortise idea of glue up. Can you make a video of putting in the cross beam ie. making that vertical beam and then how you cut the wood to size. Fitting it into the hole, fixings etc ?

LOL At first I was like what's up with all the flying sawdust on the jointer then you're like "it would help if I turned on the dust collector". HEHE Nice. Thanks for sharing

Another great vid. Like the mortice idea. Plain and simple with a great seamless finish. Going to adopt this method for my next table. Not a chisel in sight. Hell of a lot of clamps though! are the boards spruce 2 x 6's?

chriscdr they are yes. Thanks for the comment man!

Are you using pine 2x6s? The wood looks really nice.

Can you tell me how you connect the 4x4 x base to the mortiser and tennon post? I don't see any plugs from screw holes. I hope it wasn't done with the domino, I don't have one and can't afford one right now. Thanks Pete!!

Im sorry im not exactly sure what youre referring too because there is no 4x4 anywhere. The center vertical post connects to the top and bottom portion of the legs via dominos. But you can easily use glue, screws, and clamps. The 45 degrees pieces connect simply with glue and a couple brad nails, that's it. Hope that helps you

That does help! Sorry for the confusing question! I was referring to the 45 degree supports. So just glue and brad nails, what size nails? Thanks for the reply as I am getting ideas on building my own table.

Nice vid Pete! I need a jointer so bad. Is that a 6"?
@DettorreCustoms7 жыл бұрын
2x4Dad yes. 6" jointer

can you run lets say a 2x8 or 2x10 through a 6" jointer one way, turn it around and do it the other way? or will that mess it all up? if you cant, what do you do when you build dining table tops with larger width boards? thanks!

Aaron Vanderveen i did videos on not only gluing up my table top, which mentions what you ask, but also flattening. i dont have a big jointer either. watch those videos and listen to what i do on my end that helps. Thanks!
