85% of 15 years (assuming she is a good little girl) - 4.5yrs Time served = 8.25 yrs still to serve if she took the plea!!! Silly loonie toon😮 S.B. Rejected the plea so quick, she actually thinks she will be acquitted😂 Well one never knows what the jury is thinking so S.B. Might be acquitted??!!? However, the videos are so incredibly damning along with autopsy findings bruisings, lacerations that happened at time of death. I think the suitcase was upstairs when Jorge got into said suitcase. S.B. Pushed suitcase down the stairs (this could account for laceration to back of neck at approx. hairline) then made the two videos with slurring and whole nine yards then hit Suitcase with Jorge inside which would have caused the bruising. Here in Australia, your boss HAS to pay you your full wage, plus you get a nominal amount for each day you are either presenting in a jury pool or actually sitting. You get a notice saying you must present at court x for three days. There is a list of conditions that would bar you from serving, such as pregnancy. At the end of those 3 days, if you haven't been selected, you are released and taken off the list for 2 years. I am 59 and have only been called up for jury duty once last year. My dad was foreman of a jury that lasted almost 4 weeks, and the case was rather complicated and involved drugs, murder, conspiracy, etc. When the case was finished, the members of that jury were offered a lifetime release from ever doing jury duty again.

In the uk, you get compensated by the court for lost wages, if your employer doesn't pay you when you're on jury duty. Is it not the same in the US?

In Ontario, Canada we only get paid if the trial goes longer than two weeks and even then it's only like $50 a day (goes up to $100 a day after ten weeks) regardless of if your employer still pays you for that time or not, so I doubt they pay very well in the States

In US on jury duty you are compensated but the amount may vary by State. Many give $50/day .

In my State the employer does not have to pay you. Mine does for a certain number of days and the court pays per day but it's far less than most people working full time are paid.

No. They don't care about lost wages or anything else. Last I served I got $25 a day and had to pay $10 out for parking each day for 5 days. It's ridiculous! That's why a lot of us skip out on it with a "come find me" attitude, and they never do.

I’m heartbroken for the victims. The guy had no limits assaulting teens, men, women, workers and pressuring other corrupt businesses to shove it all under the rug. Some of the victims even reported these things and were left unprotected, ignored and just hopeless. I want these effed up business and people to get what’s coming to them.

I know male surviors who were kept in line because their male abusers because weaponized homophobia. "What will people think if they found out you did stuff with a guy?" This was the 90s and early 2000s in involving teenagers. I can see them saying that the environment made the fact that they are male relevant due to prejudicial additudes.

These are all extremely difficult cases. But it is so important that victims have a safe space to make their allegations, and the right to be heard in Court. I cannot imagine how scary it is for victims to come forward.

I mean if Diddy was making women do stuff with him or other men as objects he wanted to desire and control, and men are trying to be humiliated with acts that go against their sexual orientation, that's two different reasons to assault and both are gender based. It's unorthodox that a case would say it's a gender specific crime against men and women but I also don't think that would be very hard to argue. Arguably, it's if he harms one gender and doesn't harm the other that you could most easily argue that a crime is gender motivated

The fact that Att. Owens had no intention to represent her any further than negotiating a plea deal and achieved that. Only then to be talked into signing as her lawyer is just another example of her manipulation skills as well documented in her jailhouse infraction log. As we've seen in several cases, manipulators of this caliber don't tend to do so well when having to try their craft with a broader and random audience.
