In one of the final scenes, Oscar Levant (Sean Hayes) has a mental break and imagines George Gershwin forcing him to play the entirety of Rhapsody in Blue on live television.

That moment when you are totally conflicted because you are annoyed someone had their cell phone recording during a live show and in awe to have an opportunity to see someone shine in their talent!

Agreed... looks to be pretty discreet... and I'm grateful.

Was hoping, someone would capture this amazing moment ! I saw this show before it opened,and would have given Sean the Tony the day I saw this! Incredible ! Thank you who ever took the risk. They really should have pro shot the whole play for PBS or Netflix! What a talent

Saw this during its run and Sean Hayes was mesmerising as Levant and totally deserved the Tony for his performance.

Apart from the strategic cuts in the score, wonderful.

Absolutely amazing performance. Stunning. Had me in tears most of the time. The emotion with which he plays reaches right into your soul and takes you on a journey. Thank you so much for sharing this. Similar to another person who posted, I am a big fan of Smartless and have heard so much about Sean in this show. Now I can completely see why. What a humble guy and marvelous talent.

I really wanted to see Sean play Oscar but didn’t get the chance. This gave me chills.

And now I've watched it a dozen times, and it still gives me chills. It's beyond magical.

I am speechless… as others have said in the comments, the “Smartless Podcast” guys made me go looking for some of this. I expected excellence, but this surpassed all expectations. BRAVO Sean!

Sean is incredible. How can one man have that much talent -- it isn't fair. LOL. I watch him act in ANYTHING and I am in awe - then to watch him perform in dance or on a piano...my goodness...he is a treasure. WE LOVE YOU, SEAN.... never stop!

Great & amazing portrayal of a great pianist/wit/actor done by a great actor. Sean certainly deserved the Tony for this ;-}

Rhapsody in Blue is truly part of the classical music repertoire for the piano, and I'm so glad Sean, whom I love as a brilliant comedy talent, was given this opportunity to do a true concert performance, as well as produce a Tony-winning acting role.

No actually, the orchestra was prerecorded but the piano was live.

How rude of you to be recording this performance. I’m sure the people around you loved seeing the bright light of your phone screen as you recorded away.

He obviously has training and talent, and can play his way across the keys well! A rushed and sometimes unfollowable performance, but I trust a combination of nerves and desire to be funny caused that much.
