It's been quite the journey with this one. From being unable to even establish on the start holds with @stephenkim64 holding my gumby 🍑 into the stand to watching him work the full line with the conventional foot cam beta that day, I went home believing I would never do this climb because of my height.
Then on some random day, the babe @jamesclimbsv10 wanted to try it and we both managed to climb Over the Boardwalk, but actually doing the whole climb felt really far away.
In the process of watching random beta and searching for cool boulders to try, I happened upon my Muad'Dib, @tdple13. He pointed the way and showed me the narrow path through ✨👠✨
Returning to the boulder a year later and having invested a few more sessions into it, I started to realize what I personally regarded as one of tramway's king-lines was actually possible for me.
Usually when I have this realization about a climb, I feel this internal pressure to send the boulder now. And I didn't really feel this as strongly as I have with other projects. With this one, I started to think about the people who have been with me along the way--not just at this rock but at all the rocks of all time. It is really hard to believe all the friends and memories I've made in the past five years cus of rocks. I don't know if I'll ever forget the matter of factness with which @sammowu told me I was gonna send the boulder the night before it went down. That was some type-💩 I think.. maybe.. I still don't really know what that means, but this is one for the books and I'll be celebrating Toshi style once my cough blows over😮‍💨
