@@BanjoSjoerd Those types of Banjos are great for Jazz playing. I'm getting a Dean Electric Banjitar soon because I play Guitar and I find these instruments have a much broader musical range. The Banjitar (6 String Banjo) is the cousin of the Plectrum Banjo (and the Tenor Banjo too) because they don't have a drone string and they're usually played with a pick. The reason why a Plectrum Banjo doesn't have a drone string is because as 5 String Banjo players started to get into Jazz settings, they found that the 5th String would ring outta key because horn players like to play in flat keys. As a result they took off the 5th string and the Plectrum Banjo was born. All that said Scargold aka Brent Hayes played a 5 String Plectrum Banjo which had a Low F string that broadened his musical range. The Mando-Banjo, Tenor Banjo, and the Banjitar had the same idea as the plectrum Banjo so that lots of musicians could compete with the horns.
