Now I see why this gentleman,is one of the best artist in reggae and dance hall, his statements are articulate, profound, and quite precise, the logics of clash is to distroy and discredit, another artist in the same profession, where he's trying to make a living for him self and his family, there is really no winners in dance hall clash, because it has no rules.this interview should be played in every dance hall.

I enjoy clashes and many people do, so clash culture can continue. However the way clash culture is today is killing dancehall. Its too much ego in it. Clash should be like sparring. You go up against your opponent but after the match its over. The level of ego in dancehall where we can't even have a proper juggling because a riddim can't have more than 5 songs bcuz artist/producer refuse to work with each other because of ego. Clash is enjoyed locally and throughout the diaspora but outside the diaspora the load a war songs don't go no way.

I'm sorry, once he said "control people" and not black people, in regards to "Willie Lynch" I was like ok, don't change the book. It was how to control black African people, kidnapped and put into slavery. I read it, it affected me because it shows you why black people stay certain way. Sean Paul is putting his own spin on it still. Read the book for yourselves. Don't take someone else's opinion. The book was about how to control black people, the methods used was geared towards skin color, hair texture, etc.. I overstand the analogy still.

Watching this (and will watch the longer interview as well), I have to take my hat off to Sean. Very grounded man to even mention wha gwan with Pop Smoke (RIP). But he is right. Why are we as a people warring with each other like this??? Another thing to consider here is who are pulling the artists strings? To make money, they are making these artists chat like dem fi war, ergo slave mentality. When you think about it, what message do millennial artists portray today? It's not nice at all is it. Record companies are lords of war. This ep needs much more views before these execs try ban it

@@bay876 it lame and dead now but it's still kinda needed cuz rivalry and competition is always good. Pushes artistes to go further and improve. Examples like bounty vs beenie and Vybz Kartel vs Mavado. Nowadays clash just lame

Dancehall is derived from the ghetto. Its not for everybody. I.e uptown ppl (even though unuh use it when it convenient for unuh). Its a gladiator sport - dancehall version. Its a local award/merit to boast about really. It can elevate an artist's career in the eyes of the public...BUT only locally. Nobody overseas cares. If we can keep it lyrical by all means dweet but anything outside of the studio is unnecessary. The intelligence of the audience plays a major part as well. Nuff a dem too dunce fi know di difference between music and real life. Man waa fight man fi man that they've never met...and dem not even a buy the same artist dem a fight for music. It doesn't make any sense. Wise up people. Once again, the football game analogy is spot on SP. The colorism is strong in these comments. People have an issue with the messenger more than the actual message. Sad.
