It's so awesome to hear a harpsichord in Irish trad. I had a friend who was a harpsichord maker. I wish he was still alive, he'd love this.

First Concert 1972, second tune, slow air 'Marbhna Luimni/Lament for Limerick' commemorates the Siege of Limerick and Treaty of Limerick 3 October 1691. As a Limerickman this has special significance. A variation of this tune was used for theme music in 'Miller's Crossing'. “Cuimhnígí ar Luimneach agus ar fheall na Sasanach”; Remember Limerick and Saxon Perfidy.

The Limerick Lament. What sad images of the defeated soldiers leaving Ireland for france after the siege of Limerick in 1691. They were banished and forced to leave their wives and families behind.

17:38, anyone know the singer and anyone know the name of the song, its composer and the subject matter? Great song, sounds quite holy/significant, hard to believe this isn't an ode/song handed down from the ages by oral memory
