I wasn’t able to make it to the Monster Energy race at Snow Summit, also known as Big Bear, even though I was in California just two weeks ago. After all that travel and the rush to get back for Nationals, I was completely exhausted.
While catching up on Instagram, I noticed Sean was having some issues with his USA Cycling license and was planning to skip the race. I reached out to him and suggested he contact Clay Harper, who was able to quickly resolve the issue, allowing Sean to race.
Sean and I originally connected on Pinkbike earlier this year when he bought my dream build, a Commencal V5. It turns out that Sean is also from Tallahassee, though he moved to Colorado a few years ago. Despite never knowing each other before, we’ve been following each other on Instagram ever since, keeping up with each other’s racing.
It’s pretty funny-two Seans/Shawns from Tallahassee meeting through Pinkbike without ever crossing paths before! I reached out to Sean and asked if I could share his race run and provide some commentary on the track since I couldn’t be there myself. I hope you enjoy the video, and big thanks to Sean for letting me do this.
