The only reason I'd second that is cause I think Shawn succumbed to the pressure, was his first ever defence for his belt ... The third round which was the deciding round could have been his if he was a little more proactive , didn't use teeps like his coach said, didn't risk it using 1-2 , both of their striking was well matched but Shawn was better yet dricus' kicks and takedowns came in handy. Also that cut might have persuaded judges' opinion , was lucky for dricus.

I was rooting for Strickland but betting on DDP, it was a good fight. I thought DDP would gas by the middle of the 3rd and was I wrong. That surgery DDP got to fix his breathing obviously helped, he did not look like a fighter struggling to go the full 5 rounds, impressive on that end. Strickland looked like Strickland, he stuffed every takedown DDP attempted/did and had great jabs to swell the eyes of DDP. Great job by both fighters you can definitely tell they both took this fight seriously and worked on their perceived "weak areas." Congratulations to DDP.

Takedowns won him the fight, annoyed that those count to a win as much as they do. He still stuffed most of them, and wrestled out of them almost instantly. Is it really a takedown if he immediately gets up? It’s sad that strickland isn’t getting points for the defense as well, checked almost every kick and dodged tons of haymakers and overhands. Wasn't a robbery but it wasn't a clear win either. I just don't understand why Sean stopped the teep kicks, that worked perfectly, after the first round. Gave Dricus the chance to get closer and find his range better. Also, aside from the single jab which was landing and doing damage there wasn't really any follow up from Sean. It's sad that his reign was so short but he just didn't do enough to convince the judges of a win
