Just seeing this line up brings me so many memories

I was in the left field bleachers for this one. When the game started you could barely see home plate looking into the sun. Great moment when Vogey walked off the mound after 7 strong, the crowd was going crazy. After the final out the guy in front of us turns around with a big grin and says, "We got a Game 7, baby!"

I feel like Vogey never gets the credit he deserves for his 2012 postseason, Giants wouldn’t have sniffed the championship without his cold blooded pitching

I Agree. Big game after big game. Even Zito game 5 of this series.

All the Giants pitchers during this time was insane. Vogey, Cain, Zito. Mad Bum, Lincecum, Affelt and Romo.

@@IncredibleFulk1 What's actually funny is that Bumgarner was really bad in these playoffs. Terrible against both the Reds and Cardinals. Him going in Game 2 of the World Series was more out of necessity than anything since Vogey and Cain weren't available.

@@mfdixon1985 Both Bumgarner and Cain ended the season a little out of whack, and they did not right the ship until late in the NLCS, and they had fantastic WS starts. Vogey was stone-cold amazing throughout the playoffs, if you wanted a 2012 postseason hero for the Giants, it was Vogelsong. Zito also really stepped things up, as he did all of 2012.

Vogelsong has serious life in his pitches this day. Explosive, he was in his groove. Unforgettable

Vogelsong had the best season of his career that year. I don't think there is any other time where he out pitches Chris Carpenter. Plus, Scutaro was on fire that postseason.

Debatable. 2011 was better if you ignore postseason.

My son and I were in the last row looking right down at third base waving our rally towels and the crowd was electric. Playoffs are definitely on another level compared to a regular season game. We had the time of our lives.

I swear postseason baseball before 2013 hit so different than it does now...is that just me tho
@MichaelAnthonyPresents4 жыл бұрын
Id say in 2016 was when managers would pull starters for walking one batter. Bochy always let the starters go longer and thats why the bullpen was always so great in 2010, 2012, 2014.

@@MichaelAnthonyPresents I mean true, but as a diehard O's fan, the 2012 and 14 posteasons were so good honestly. the 2016 wildcard game felt too weird, and I honestly forget it's happened so many times

Gotta add that cool headed Ryan Vogelsong won in dominant fashion in 2 of the 4 series wins for the Giants. He was truly the MVP of this series. Barry Zito was so so clutch on the road in game 5 and ties Vogelsong for MVP.
@komeradkaput2 ай бұрын
It was a Giants steamroller that flattened the Cardinals in coming back from being down 3 games to 1. S.F. won 5-0, 6-1, and 9-0. St. Louis looked so dominant early on but the confident Giants sent the defending champions packing. The Cardinals looked really lost in game 7!

Although I doubt you see this in any broadcast, Metallica got the crowd warmed up, with James Hetfield screaming into the mic "San Francisco, are you ready to KICK SOME CARDINAL ASS??" Vogelsong said after that he was FIRED UP, and his fastball had 2-3 extra MPH over the norm.

To be fair Buck is a bit better compared to previous years. I would rather have Matt Vasgersian though.
