Couldn't agree more! Understanding the equipment around you can only make you a stronger, wiser and more confident VJ. I've met a couple VJ's who are very "I only want to VJ I shouldn't have to do any of that video stuff!!" and it confuses the heck out of me..why wouldn't you want to add to your skill sets? The bigger gigs I get the more video tech knowledge is highly preferred and sought after.

i know novastar inside and out, i can replaced LED modules, i know NovaLCT inside and out also, i also own my own walls so i guess it makes sense but yes all VJs should know how to service the gear they use

Nice! I agree it is valuable. I think access to LED Walls & Processors is an obstacle for some VJs that enter the industry from other angles, but finding those opportunities are worth it for sure.
