You can guess many things of the English words that can mean '중성', but in Korea, it usually means 'unidentifiable gender' and 'having both sexes'. Rather than using it as a noun, korean people usually use the expression "중성적이다" to pretty men and boisish women. Other times, the "중성마녀" in the "Crayon Shin-chan(짱구는 못말려)" theater version has become a meme, making pronoun of a high-toned male voice (using a feminine tone).
