Bear Cruzer G2 Review. In this video, I give you a Bear Cruzer G2 Review. This is probably one of the most comprehensive reviews that have ever been done on the Bear Cruzer G2 up to this point. In this video, I go over all the accessories as well as show you how to adjust the draw weight and draw length. I shoot the Bear Cruzer G2 through a Chronograph at every single draw length and I measure the draw weight of the Bear Cruzer G2 after every single turn of the limb bolt.

Sir, Thank you very much for the very thorough review and instruction on this bow. I just ordered it. I grew up bow and gun hunting in WVa and continued that through my military career (including elk hunting when I lived in Colorado :) ). Got out of the game for a few years following open heart surgery and now getting back. That old Bear White Tail hunter, though a great bow back in the day, especially for a teenager in the 80s, just wasnt gonna cut it with hthe new tech. Hi Sean, I was so happy to see this review done by you this morning. I have owned a Bear Cruzer G2 for a few months now. I have recently got into archery and my friend said - careful its addictive, seems he was correct! Its all new to me but so much fun - far beats the air rifle shooting I was doing. So many things to get right as well but thats part of the fun! I wanted a bow with low draw wight to start after 3 shoulder ops I need to ease into it. Literally the best and most complete bow review !! Amazing!! I got this bow for my son and it has been great ! Sean, I just wanted to say a few things regarding the video and your channel. First of all, thank you. This was an incredible amount of work to do all of this testing, which I don't think comes through on the video, due to editing for time. Secondly, this is a very comprehensive review and done very fairly, since you own the bow but also own other brands its obvious you're not doing this for any other reason. I definitely learned a few things I never knew and have been shooting for a few years, so thanks again! The one thing I have added to my toolkit lately that has helped tremendously is a stick of Loctite, rather than the liquid. I do firearm and knife cleaning, maintenance and accessory installation and the stick has made working with all of the tiny screws so much easier. I couldn't find it locally so I got it on Amazon. It's just the blue stuff, but easier to use, in case you want to check it out.

I just bought a Bear Cruzer G2(Undertow) as my first bow, I am happy so far, learning as I go. I had Cabela's setup the bow for me. They installed a new d-Loop and peep-sight. Thank you for the in-depth video with lot's of information. After watching your video I checked my G2 and I can see that the top cam has slight tilt, did not noticed that before.

I've got a Cruzer G2 as well. And a bit of cam lean isn't super critical. In fact see if it changes along the draw cycle? It might not be leaning at all at full draw. Use a remote activated of timer camera to take photo's from the front at different points along the draw cycle to see what's what. Also get some photographs from the side to check cam timing. From what I can tell the Cruzer G2 shoots better than me, and will last a very long time.

This is an awesome review, I can't wait to see this done in the infinite edge pro (my daughter's and my bow). I will mention that the infinite edge manual is quite specific about what your peak draw weight will be depending on what you set your length to, and they have some overlap on draw length with the different configurations so you can attain a slightly higher draw weight if you want. It's complicated and has to do with the way the cable is strung around the cam and module. Also, the string rubbing against the dampener DOES happen on the IE pro if set up in certain configurations, but the manual is very clear that you should not use the dampener in those setups.

I bought this bow too. I have a 26 in dl and pulling around 58 lbs. I shoot a 27 inch arrow that is just under 400 grains total with speed of 227. Not sure if my dad's Chrono was working right but anyways I got a small deer last year

@@seansoutdoors Sean, I have measure and calculated my draw length at 28.85". I am going to start with my draw length at 29". I am above average in strength but not sure the poundage to set my bow at as a newbie. I expect to be mid 60's maybe higher. Just sharing. Nice review. On those round peeps, with the tubing, I've found that if my d-loop of aligned with the peep, when I attach my release, and draw, it spins the peep around so I can easily look through it.

Hey man just really wanted to say I really appreciate your videos and they have helped me a lot on my path of beginning archery. Diamond is replacing the sb1 with the edge320. One of the guys told me at the archery shop diamond is no longer sending out sb1's only edge320's. I picked up an 320 and I'm loving it so far but it is my first bow so I do not have much to compare it to. I plan on handing this one down to my son after a year or so and upgrading but It would be really awesome to see a video breaking down 320 and what they changed. I know that the 320 and the sb1 have the same riser and the 320 has different more aggressive cams supposedly but what else I'm not sure. Thanks for the videos again man!

Hello I was wondering when you change the original draw length from 26” to 30” did you have to change the pound setting as well? I know you mentioned the bow came at 70lbs did increasing the length put the bow over the 70lbs mark or will increasing the length not effect the weight? Thanks

With the design of the module on this bow the draw weight will change when the draw length is changed.

Great video. I would say though if you had talked to anyone at a bow shop that sells these bows they could've told you about the change of draw weight with draw length. I've been working at a shop and I've known this since the first one I set up for a customer. Its the same with most bows with a rotating module design I've worked on. I haven't verified with bear or other manufacturers but my theory is that with the rotating module design you limit the rotation of the cam thus limiting the tension of the limbs as it doesnt gonthrough the full cam cycle anymore. Also explains your noticing of the lack of let off on the lower settings. Edit: Also bear designs their boxes to open laying flat on the bench. If you had opened it that way you would've noticed the stabilizer and wrist sling right away.

Have you ever handled any of the Mission bows (Mathews budget brand)? I liked the Hype DTX from a couple years ago but was interested in the new for 2019 MXR or Switch. Especially when compared to the Bear Cruzer G2 or similar budget options.

I bought a used almost brand new g2 cruder. My string slide comes off and doesn’t have an end cap. Do I just loosen the two screws and make it a little longer so that it won’t slide off.

I just got the bow a few days ago, 2018 productions, sadly most of the issues you mentioned, I run into too. The D-Loop was loose and not at right angle, had to correct and fixate. The Cam lean is visible, noticed while I had the removable stand on and the air buble was way off. The Peep was loose too, and after some shots it moved my itself and I missed a shot. Idk how to fix the Cam lean, as I dont have a press. The center shot is also probably bad but I did not check it yet. Also I need to check the timings too, they are probably of too. Worst thing is the shop that sold me the bow, probably did not care that much about showing me and tunning it with me, so I am taking it back for fixing and tunning. Funny thing, they said its not better by any means than the both Diamonds that you reviews, even though before I even checked any videos or seeked for tips, I choosed the SB one by myself.. Also having shoulder issues and drawing with my left, by nature weak arm as 30 pounds 30 inches.

Hello Sean! I have one question. I bought a used G2 in good condition (in my opinion). The arrow impacts are way to the left (about 5cm / 2 inches) and the side adjustment of the sight is on it's limit (the sight is now on it's maximum left). Do you have an advice for me what I can look for? I thought about switching the white PVC bearings to get the string more to the right... What do you think about this? Best regards - Patrick

Check your cam lean and the arrow rest. If.thr rest is not centered properly of cam lean too excessive it can cause challenges. My guess would be the arrow rest though.

I know this video is almost 2 years old, but this video made me buy one. It will be here on Tuesday next week. Its been almost 20 years since I have shot a bow, let alone hunted with one. I can't wait. With any luck I will feel confident enough to harvest an animal this fall with it.

I hunt so I like the ones with a hook on the head so that you can hook it on the D loop without having to look down to see what you are doing. There are a number of brands that make them so simply try to find one in hour budget. I prefer one with a buckle style strap, not Velcro. Don't get Velcro strap whatever you do. You need the belt buckle style so that you can put it on the same hole every time which helps with anchoring consistency...
