I think you were one of (if not) the first KZbin channels I subscribed to back in the 2010s. I’m 25, graduating college next semester and always found joy watching your videos both old and new. I know I am not the only fan to say that we are all here for you and will always support you. The toy community sadly isn’t what it used to be. You are such a genuine person with so much love, you and your family are in my prayers. I know it will get better soon my man♥️♥️

I quit doing toy reviews roughly 10 years ago, just couldn't afford it anymore. I don't make videos as often as I once did, I've been here for 15 years, but I've kinda accepted defeat I used to love watching you, Peaugh, Optibotimus, Emgo316, Sportimus, and many others back in the day. I met you at BotCon in 2010 and man that was an amazing experience Whatever the future brings for you, I hope you can make it through
@SEANxLONG24 күн бұрын
It was so awesome meeting you back at Botcon! It’s just harder to stand out in this community. There is a place for everyone on KZbin but it’s harder to stand out in certain groups without a lot of effort or luck. If I could focus all on attention or most on KZbin I be in a better place on here but it’s hard with working full time and a toddler. I won’t give up.

As a (still growing) KZbinr, I COMPLETELY understand the pain of trying to put out content you put hours of work into only to not get viewed. And the more you try and try, it just gets increasingly harder to navigate and keep up with. Not to mention it seems like the era of the internet has just been going down hill when it comes to KZbin, but it seems like the attention span of viewers has been diluted by things like tiktok and KZbin shorts, which is ridiculous since youtube pushes those out into the algorithm more than regular length videos. But I guess that's just how it goes. Thank you for everything man! Been watching you for about 12 years now and you always put out bangers. I wish the best for you and your family and I hope life improves for you man. It's a struggle but we got each other through it🔥🔥🔥

This channel is where I originally found out about Hot Toys/sixth scale. It’s too bad that it’s going away but I get it. There’s a lot of competing creators out there and as mentioned working a full-time job and having a family to take care of can’t be easy to squeeze in time for reviews. Especially if they aren’t getting the views.

I remember loving your videos when I first started collecting, and in some way watching yours and other review video seems like part of the hobby. Now I still buy figures but not as into it as I was, I know reality will sometimes force us to grow out of this hobby. It still makes me sad when youtubers that I used to love moved on, but like everything in life, nothing stays the same, and that is why we collect these toys I guess to somehow clinch on some part of our life for a bit longer. Wish you well for your life on wards and hopefully someday you are able to get back into the hobby again.

EDIT: I wrote this comment before passing the 5 min mark, so I reckon some things I mention here may be mentioned later on. Man, I gotta be honest. And just a heads up, you may not like what I'm about to say, but I wouldn't even comment or come back to your channel if I didn't care a little, because you were the first reviewer I watched and it was because of you that I stopped being ashamed of admitting I liked to collect toys while being a teenager and why I got back to collecting 10 years ago. I've seen a lot of reviewers, of all kinds of stuff. And if there's something that they all have in common in a way or another is that they evolve or improve their craft and to be completely honest, I don't see that happening in your channel, if anything I think the quality has either stayed the same or worse. I just watched the Fiend figure video, it is not properly frammed, the audio is all messed up and tbh, you don't come accross as excited for what you're doing. And don't get me wrong, I'm an introvert, I'm not saying you should get all extrovert mode, screaming and jumping around to come accross like you're excited, but you really come accross as if you're just trying to sound excited but you're not. I'm not saying you need the best microphone or the best camera or the best editing/sound mixing skills in order to be successful, but that video does not come accross like you cared for what you did, for what you were talking about or the quality, and tbh you cannot convince me that that video was the result of hours of actual work. I've worked as a video editor and it is not possible that that video took more than maybe two hours total (and I'm still considering that you made more than one take and the rendering time). I remember a video from a few years ago where you mentioned that the company that helped you with the transitions and/or animations for your channel part ways with you from some bs reason. I thought, "huh, maybe he could learn to do a simple intro on after effects or an animation software, and do something more of his own style", but nope, ever since it feels like you just gave up on the idea of crafting your editing. I know it is not easy to produce videos, and doing all the stages alone is indeed stressful and tiring. But there's no way around it, you either get better at it or you won't stay relevant. Nostalgia is not bringing the numers because it is not sustainable. You always end up mentioning and comparing yourself with others and it feels like you haven't grasped what makes them resonate with their audience, Jobby's videos are way different than when he started and he has been improving all his resources and skills since the beginning. There's a mexican youtuber called Gabo's Reviews that is fairly successful doing almost exclusively Transformers videos and his early videos to what he has become are night and day. Maybe Shartimus hasn't needed to change that much of his format because he does uploads almost on a daily basis and may have more deals with brands and does a lot more noice but you cannot take that as an excuse of why you are not succeeding with your channel. Jobby doesn't have thise resources, he doesn't post every day, but look at the other things he does like the streams and the constant evolution. Anthonyscustoms has also improved his craft even if his overall format remains the same and has a simple editing and a far more straight critical approach instead of the all positive excited fanboying. The thing is that you really need to try new things, something you feel comfortable with, and find balance between enjoying that thing and that resonates with people. Hard pill to swallow: Nostalgia will not bring new viewers and your most viewed videos in the last years are those of you complaining about not being able to succeed. Look at this video, you don't get this engagement or views in the regular videos for a reason. I think there is something called toxic and fake positivity and that's what always happens with these kind of videos you make. Almost everyone says they love your content and your style but that does nit reflect on the main videos, they are just enabling your current path, not giving useful criticism and that only makes the cycle start over. Also, I'm gonna be honest.. the jokes are not funny. Humor is subjective, I know, but I can almost say with full certainty, that that is not your strongest area. I don't think I can give you ideas on that though. Stop complaining about how others are doing good and not you. You don't need to have the newest thing fast and early to be successful and if anything Jobby and Anthony are proof of that, and that doesn't mean that they do not struggle in their own way, even Shartimus teaches music. I don't know if you have another job and I know you have a kid but Shartimus and Anthony do to, so it is not impossible to get better at this, but you need to try harder and I don't know you personally outside the channel, I don't kniw what other things you're dealing with. But if those other things are affecting your will or time or whatever is tanking youtube... maybe an actual break from this is not a bad idea. I'm not saying abond it forever, but try to get an actual job (not saying this is not a real job, but it is clearly not working out), maybe hit the gym, build new friendships, I know it is hard but it is better than keep on making the same things, which by definition won't give you different results. And you know what? If you find out that you like that life better than youtube, that's also fine! You can find freedom in a regular job too, in being a good dad to your kid, in being a good husband. Maybe being a more casual collector, that's also fine. One thing I beg you not to do. DO NOT LISTEN TO THOSE TELLING YOU TO KEEP ON DOING WHAT YOU ARE CURRENTLY DOING. That is not working out for you, nor your channel. I hope that this gave you a more objective view of things and I wish you the best, think about it and make the best decision, but don't think you owe a channel to your audience, do not marry the idea that youtube is the only thing you can do, but if you are going to keep doing it, you need to actually improve your game and be aware, you may need to experiment for a while, it will not take just one video.
@SEANxLONG17 күн бұрын
No I agree. There is many factors why my toy reviews aren’t as good as they used to be. When I was at my peak it was my only focus to make videos which now I have a kid and other jobs. Also I have been filming my videos for the last couple years on my phone or iPad because my computer broke(the repair guy said it’s not worth repairing either). My editing is so limited to what I can do on my phone or iPad compared to using Final Cut Pro. I really haven’t been the biggest fan of making toy reviews for years. I just am not a fan of being critical to a toy that is suppose to bring joy. It also makes me not enjoy the figure as much unless I make a skit with it. I really enjoy entertaining and being informative than critical. I rather bring up objective criticisms than subjective. I rather people buy things based on what they see than my opinion. I hope to get a new computer soon and really improve my videos but till then I’ll do the best with what I have. I will make videos on things I’m super excited for.

Collecting them, posing them, and taking pictures of them bring me great joy. Its a fun hobby for me. I have an Instagram page where I share my pictures, which also brings me great joy. I was so proud of my collection! I love your content man! Its sad that toy collections arent as strong of presence anymore. I wish the best for you!

sean i think you're wonderful. whatever you feel like making, whenever you feel like making it, im down to check it out. the last thing I (and imagine many of us) would want is you doing this stuff and not feeling it or feeling rewarded. if this aint working for you it aint working for me neither

i honestly think that 10 /12 years ago Toy Reviews were great and honest , but now i think its just a competition to get views . I also think toy reviews are to blame for the prices being jacked up on secondary markets .

If it wasn't for Sean and his friends amazing toy reviews I wouldn't have discovered hot toys and such and ever since youtube changed it's ways its not helping the reviewers do what they love most, I wish Sean and everyone the best and a early merry Christmas ❤️

Dude!! My Deadpool statue short took me seconds to make. Absolutely no thought put into it. My other posts I’ve put a lot of “Thought & Creativity” took hours to put together. Delete it & redo. Constantly re-edit to try & duplicate that Deadpool short success. Nothing but failure. All that work for barely 1000 views if I’m lucky? I’m at a standstill at the moment scratching my head?? And yes… “the struggle” is real out here for a lot of us my thoughts go out to you & yours. Best of luck to you man!👊🏻

I’m just moving forward on a different direction. Even for toy reviewers I’m not everyone’s favorite which I’m fine with. I just rather work on other stuff and not invest in collecting stuff even if it’s stuff I wanted or upgrading.

Hey man, I’ve been a subscriber since 2010 when I was only 14 years old and collecting Marvel Legends. I always followed guys like Shartimus, Sentry and of course you. Today I’m 28, I have a beautiful wife and two gorgeous daughters and to this day I still have a love for figures (even asked my wife for a Batmobile and Berserk figures for Christmas lol). I can’t express how thankful I am to have grown up with guys like you on KZbin who’ve really motivated me to express my passion in figures at a young age and how much joy you’ve given me watching all your vids. As I’ve gotten older, I’m afraid to say that even I have gone through something similar to a certain degree. I run my own Personal Training business, and unfortunately it’s gone under slowly but surely and I’ve made the choice in a month or so to take up a new but of course a fortunate one for both me and my family. When things like this happen, it almost always comes bitter but I’ve come to believe as I’ve reflected in my life in other moments like this that it is almost always an opportunity for you to grow and a blessing in disguise. Some things no matter how you fight it when things don’t work out, just aren’t meant to be. When the world and everything in the universe gives you all the signs it’s time to move on no matter how hard it is, it’s a sign trying to push you into a better position and happier one. You’ve done an amazing job on this platform and brought an endless amount of joy to people like me for years. I don’t toy collect a whole lot but I’m very selective on what I get and I’m happy with that. My daughter is 4, and she absolutely loves Spiderman and figures. I know I’m probably gonna be helping her on her toy hunts and I’m so excited to do so as it’s a love of mine, but as I buy figures for me and my daughter there’s a part of me that’ll always reminisce when I collected a lot and watching your reviews. Thank you Sean for everything. I pray you find your calling and I still hope you come on this platform with whatever path you choose as I’ll always support you.

Hey Sean hang in there buddy. Honestly I have a personal preference of collecting just Statues like from McFarlane or dc direct. PVC diamond select. I feel like it’s more for adults and I just appreciate it more.
