Is, or was, there life beyond Earth? For years, NASA has looked for signs of life on other planets. Now, they're one step closer. Here's how our partner ‪@NASAJPL‬’s autonomy and AI system, NeBula, enables Spot and a team of robots to autonomously explore hundreds of meters of Martian-like caves with no prior information about the map or features of the environment.

@neo-didact9285

Absolutely love this, imagine sending 30 of these working autonomously in a swarm from a Falcon heavy. Not just mapping terrain but also laying out cables for charging stations and preparing infrastructure for future manned missions! Absolutely astonishing. I wonder how much the martian dust may wear and tear on them long term and if they can be mars-proofed. The dust is really bad, containing many microscopic sharp particles similar to fiberglass and asbestos.

This is a real game changer. It is a must to send a full squad of robots to mars/moon in every star ship. Their battery must contain isotopes instead of solar panels like curiosity or perseverance to increase their life expectancy and function for many years.
