Gday Colin & crew, Was really nice to hear of the children in Vanuatu, I was there in the early 80's and had the very same experience. The children were in three groups down by the pier, the 2-5's, 5-11's & the adolescents - teenagers, They laughed & played in the water all day .Their smiles were huge, id never see a happier bunch of people . Later in the market i met the adults who were also so friendly & all with beautiful smiles . Sadly my ship only stayed a few days , but im still talking about those kids 40 yrs later. Respect....!

After a brutal start to your visit to Vanuatu, Colin you were so kind and forgiving about the process. You, Britt, Jamie, and Pedro never said one nasty word about any of the customs people. I wish more people were like you and the crew, you could teach everyone how to be better. The time with those kids was so much fun, sorry for the birds but you accepted what they do and moved on. I hope we get to see them sailing, you have changed their lives forever and they will never forget this.

Brilliant! My sister lived in Vanuatu for many years back in the 80s with her husband (a doctor in the hospital in Port Vila) and 2 kids (one was even born there). I was fortunate enough to visit them a number of times, even having the privilege of taking the inaugural flight of Air Vanuatu from Melbourne with my grandfather and mother (now both deceased). I love that you had such a wonderful introduction to this magic place (after the customs incident!). Bring on more adventure and thank you for sharing. I look forward to the next instalment.
