The film follows Sarah, a 17 year old orphan living in a fractured post-apocalyptic world. We see Sarah's struggle, as she tries to uncover her forgotten past from within society's remains.

I like how you keep the characters "normal" .. So many of these films people are wearing silly apocalyptic clothing but I think this is more real to life, people will still be wearing tshirt n jeans Etc... I don't think anybody will say "darn it's the apocalypse, I better cut up a car tire and tie it to my body..

+Sasmodog But we don't know the "situation?" Yes, Blake says that things are bad "out there," but maybe nothing like this had happened to them where they were, and hiding supplies and food was just a habit.

I don't care what the others are complaining about. I liked the film. Yes, I do agree with some of the criticism, but I watched and allowed myself to be engaged with the actors. Considering they obviously have zero training, not too bad. I'd like to see more. Who knows, maybe Sarah could end up rocking the hell out of this film ? Thanks -VG

Good film. the ones that bother me are the ki nd where they nail up rotten plywood on windows or thin 4" strips of wood with 1 ft spacing between and than back up to the window so zombies o other can snatch them though the windows ect. or they go into as strange house and lay their weapms dopwn while supposely looking for food or go out inot the streets full of zombies with oput weapons while leaving a restruant, store(some times hardware store) full of could be weapons

Everyone is always commenting on this type of video about how silly it is that the weaponry is not "real"... You have to remember that these films are most often made on a VERY low budget... in many cases by school kids... and there are a plethora of possible reasons why "real" weapons are not used. Safety concerns and legal issues are the first to come to mind of course... and then budget and others. Since the purpose of these films is often to showcase talent and skill in the film making process... I could just as easily enjoy a film in which all of the "weaponry" used are training props (blue gun), and realistic effects are added in. By using such obviously "fake" weapons... the viewer can be allowed to acknowledge that point early on... and move on to focus on the story, plot, acting, editing etc... and appreciate the talent and skill that makes it all work. This was a decent story... and fairly realistic in regard to the way (at least some) people are likely to behave in a post apocalyptic situation. I say, "good job."

I presume that some of the nitpicker's observations are valid. But you gotta start somewhere... I liked the people. I was engaged in the story. I was left wanting more. It was easy enough for ME to overlook the limitations forced by low budget (air rifles, rural isolated location, clean clothing, visit to a tourist's ghost town.) For the next segment, get some tips on "tracking" from somebody who has been deployed in the military. Thanks for half an hour (video, and reading the comments) of enjoyable entertainment.

I think most of the nitpickers could be shown an actual snuff film and would complain that the "effects" were not realistic enough. They miss the point... Most of these films are made for practice... and to showcase the talent and skill that the producers have (so far) achieved. To all aspiring filmmakers, I say, "Ignore the nitpickers... you just keep 'doing you'... "

Yes? And then? You can't leave us on a precipice like this. Danielle is really cool though. I'd never let her walk into danger alone like that. But then we'll never know, will we? If you plan a continuation but lack the resources, you should strive to make each episode as self-contained as possible, while maintaining continuity between episodes. I'll give this a 'like' (for Danielle's sake) but won't subscribe since I might have to wait untill the Sun becomes a red giant before part 2 appears...

When this film started I said to myself, "oh boy, this is low budget!" Somehow though, it worked! I liked this film! Sure it was amateur, but that's why it worked! For an amateur film the pace was good! The acting was good for amateur actors! I enjoyed the dialogue between Sarah and adoptive older brother! The emotion was there and it pulled me into the story! I wanted to see what was going to happen next! The camera angles are also good and helped tell the story where there wasn't the budget for it! Keep making films guys! Good job 👍!

@@superdude1759 Ok, that might be true. But the only reason men are in ANY CHARGE is because other men let them. I know, most men dream of being an alpha man in a situation like that, but in reality they are ending on their knees like seen in this shortfilm. Because, there is always a man with bigger guns, more muscles and stronger ambitions. So it is better for all of us, if those men don't win, this is even true for most men.

Really bad acting and writing, but kudos for trying. Couple tips, though. They’ve been together for nine years and this is the first time the subject of her past has come up? Either don’t reference how much time they’ve spent together or construct the conversation as though they’re continuing a subject they’ve broached before, i.e., “Have you had any luck remembering anything about your past?” Also, give your actors slings for their rifles. Nobody nine years into an apocalypse is going to lay down their weapon on a table while they go search an unfamiliar building. Lastly, the bad guy is wearing winter gloves and a mask. I guess the gloves were just a wardrobe choice, but they don’t make sense. And the mask is pointless. It’s obvious there’s no rule of law, so no need to conceal identity. And having him talk into some kind of wrist communicator? Really? Just give them a radio.
