Exactly what I said. Me the wife and daughter all had a slight headache but we also have been hibernating most of the winter and even with the glasses on you're still getting a good amount of light in your eyes

My eyes are just great. I stared for almost an hours at the eclipse beginning to end without glasses. It was so cloudy, didn't know where the sun was. Thank you mother nature. 20 years for the next one. Woo hoo.

uv rays can still pass through the cloud layer. if you actually did look at the sun, you may still have done damage. i hope not for your sake.

@@OIII-IOOO just joking. Couldn't see the sun through the glasses. But it was cloudy and we were supposed to get totality. But the clouds diffused what little light and it just got dim. But it was cool. All the birds got quiet except one rooster. I was in the shade of the trees from the rain.

This means nothing. Eye pain could be simply staring at anything for a long time with or without eclipse glasses. So, eye strain. If people didn't stay hydrated, they could get dry eyes. Dry eyes can become irritated. It is allergy season. That can also cause eye irritation. People can get paranoid about slight irritation after watching the eclipse and search, "my eyes hurt." Also, solar retinopathy doesn't cause pain. The retina lacks pain receptors. So, it is highly unlikely that anybody searched that after damaging their eyes.

I used glasses to look at the partial eclipse in 2017 where I lived, staring it it for minutes at a time, and my left eye felt a little baked inside - now I only use the glasses for a few seconds at a time. I had no issues this time.

Many people spend most of their days either inside looking at computer screens or at a phone screen. Their eyes are strained and not used to being exposed to bright light. It is the same with skin cancer. Our body has a way of adjusting overtime and coping with whatever it is being exposed to. If you go to the beach and spend an entire day in the sun without being exposed to it for a while you are more likely to get cancer. Same with second hand smoke and most everything in life. I have spent countless days on the beach playing volleyball looking up with my eyes getting red just like the skin after too many hours in direct sunlight and had no immediate damage. Soon people will start worrying about their muscles hurting after workout.

I never looked directly at the sun during the eclipse without my solar eclipse glasses on and my eyes hurt for a couple days afterwards. No vision changes at all and the glasses are ISO conformed.

I am sorry that your eyes hurt. I accidentally looked up for a second while abouty to go in a food place with mom. I tried to get glasses, but waited to long and everyone was sold out a few days before. I did have a burning feeling that went away. I can still see with both eyes, but the onehas a little squint so I know that I did get some damage. it could be worse I could be totally blind. I will deal with the mild blurryness that I will probably have to deal with. I saw two people walk out and thought that I would try to see the clouds if it was about to go darker and looked up to high when it was happening. it was up higher on top of the roof from where I wqas at. I shouldn't hae tried to see the clouds to go darker lower. it was foolish. i quickly looked away and went back inside, but immedatey felt some blurryness for a bit but could still see. I better get an eye exam sometime. I am glad that you don't have anty vision loss changes.
