Searching for 80s nostalgia at Old Town Antique shops | 80s Nostalgia music - Devo

I'm an 80s kid. Well, I was kid in the 70s and a teen in the 80s. Every teen year was spent in the 80's, and I love it! In fact, I love it more today than I did when I was actually living through it. There is something about the 80s that is unique and interesting. The music. The toys. The fashion. So lately it's been my mission to reconnect with the 80s by searching for as much nostalgia as I can find, and our first trip will be to the antique shops in Old Town Orange to see what we can find. And on this trip, we found something that is VERY close to my heart. DEVO. I LOVED DEVO. So stay tuned for this and more!

i have that same record player and i find it's hit or miss what it'll play without skipping, some records play perfectly fine. i feel like thinner records play better than thick ones but ones that skip are most likely warped a bit like you noticed. THIS WAS FUN GUYS

Yup, Crossley and Victrola players are not very good. Spend the extra cash if you love your records and get a nicer player, tuner and speakers for around $250.

100% Upstairs at Eric's was one of the BEST 80s albums!! I've even gotten my 21-year-old daughter to love it. It's on our road trip playlist on Spotify. So amazing!!

For me nostalgic music is Rock & Roll from the 1950's 60's 70's 80 's My Band was the Beatles! I saw them on Tv in 1964, I was 9 year old, When you have time be sure to look up on You Tube Elvis Presley, The Beatles, Beach Boys, Rolling Stones, Jerry Lee Luis ,Chuck Berry, & many more! There will never be a time like that for music again! I been into nostalgia for over fifty years! Born in 1955. I love Freash Baked Disney! Been a fan of Disneyland for over 50 years too. My very first album was DEVO. Bought it at the Golden west college swap meet. The vinyl was blue and my dad was convinced that meant it was adult content only. I still have every vinyl BillyIdol ever put out, including Generation X songs. I was a little 70’s punker in my youth; the clash, ramones, generation x etc.

Yay this video is so fun! Please show the rest of your collection! One of my favorite hobbies is to go thrifting for records with my dad, sometimes the hunt and finding the perfect one is so exciting I let out the biggest gasps and squeals in stores. Always do check the quality for those scratches, those can be such a bummer when you hear them.

If you have a computer with a CD-ROM/DVD drive in it, you can also play music CDs with it. I think most DVD and Blu-Ray players can also play music CDs.

I know those songs your singing. I love old records too. I have 70’s, 80’s, Disney albums and Big Band Swing records and older Christmas records. Some good Disney records there at the store you were at. I see an Annette F. album there in the background when you were looking at the Devo record. How many other records do you have ? Also, Eddie Rabbit passed away a few years ago.

LMAO Liz, if you have a DVD player then you own a CD player. Yes, you can play CDs in a DVD player! In fact, almost any digital media you can play in a DVD or Blu Ray player. Good way to make lightly scratched records okay right... Put a penny, nickel, or dime on the back of the needle part of arm. Weight makes it skip less or not at all

EEK!! NO!! Those cheaper model record players already place way too much weight on the records as it is. Adding more weight is a REALLY good way to ruin them. (although I have to admit, we did the same thing when I was a kid, LOL) Spend the extra cash if you love your records and get a nicer player, tuner and speakers for around $250.
