Searching for a potential HURRICANE hole in Calabash Bay | Sailing Afterglow Ep. 2

This week we're keeping a close eye on tropical storm "Ernesto" to see if it will venture towards the Bahamas. We search for the nearest hurricane hole, weigh our options, and create a loose plan in case it does.
While we wait for updates, we spend some time at one of the most incredible anchorages with one of the prettiest beaches we have ever seen.

I watch a few sailing/cruising channels, glad I found you guys, I like the laid back style....Love how you have your dog cruising with you!! (I'm a dog person)...and a water sports person.....Life on the water is where its at!! Do you guys do any watersports? Kite surfing, surfing, SUP or anything? Would have been nice to see the 3-4 sunken/washedup boats you were mentioning while in dinghy in hurricane hole. There is the Columbus/Lucayan monument close by. Hope you were able to stay there as Ernesto passed to the east. The greatest protection in Calabash is far eastern corner with protection from most directions except N to W. Sometimes the greatest danger during a storm is being in a crowded anchorage with some boats dragging anchor and coming at you. Dog getting exercise running around the deck of the boat chasing the dinghy- LOL.

Rock Sound has a decent one too. I rode out hurricane Sandy in Marsh Harbour. Surprised how small the waves were when the wind came from the back side.
