Searching for a REMOTE CAMPSITE / THUNDERSTORMS Threaten the Weekend.

This week I was having issues finding a spot. There is no doubt, this year I have seen more people enjoying our public lands than prior years. I'm a little torn over seeing so many people in the woods. I one hand, I understand I'm being a bit selfish, wanting to be alone, completely removed from civilization and having these woods to myself. On the other hand, I'm happy that so many people are realizing how many amazing resources Minnesota has to offer. The downside of the forests attracting so many people is amount of garbage being left behind.
Saturday started of beautiful. Toby and I explored around the campsite searching for more camping options. I found a site that would be perfect for someone in a tent. The views of the lake from atop a big hill were outstanding. It wasn't long before a thunderstorm moved in. We decided to take shelter in the camper for a few hours. After the lightening passed, I went outside to grab a few shots during the rain. I found a turtle in my campsite; it was fun to watch him navigate around. I think he was just as curious about me as I was him. Once the rain passed Toby and I started up the fire and prepared supper. I made a very inexpensive cut of short ribs, they were delicious! I tossed in a line in hopes of catching a monster small mouth, but with supper on the line I was only able to cast out a few times. The mosquitoes were out in full force this weekend. It was around 11pm when I made my way out to the campfire. The mosquitoes are always super bad from 7pm to 10pm. Sitting around the open pit was nice. The smokeless barrel I have been using the last few weeks is a great option, but there's something different about watching the fire from an open rock lined fire pit. Sunday morning felt like fall. The temperatures were in the 40's and the rain had returned. Even though it wasn't the perfect weekend for being outside, my mental batteries were recharged, and the relaxing weekend will carry me through another work week.

I am 78 years old and take care of my husband (80) who has dementia. This morning was a difficult one for me as I only got three hours of sleep. I was feeling stressed. I decided to go on KZbin Tube and watch your video. What good therapy for me to see the peace of your video and hear your voice. I especially like the pork rib recipe, think I will make this soon. As a guy who knows about punching in at 5 am and not getting off work until whenever , only to drive 2/3 hrs any given direction to go camping on the weekends . I fully understand where you are in life. I don’t think too many people would be mad if you had to push your upload to Wednesday so you can pack more content into the video. The one thing I have heard from youtubers is that editing takes a lot of time. I can only imagine. For most youtubers, it's their main job, meaning most don't have other jobs like you do. I’ll be 100% completely honest, keep your videos the length they are. I tend to tune out or not even watch videos that are closer to an hour or more. It’s like making a film, so much of what gets put on film or digital now ends up on editing room floor. You’re a storyteller Kenny and always tell the story you wish to tell that’s what editing is for. What I get from this channel is a man and his dog going out and enjoying life and outdoors, not afraid to show his mistakes and humility and that’s really refreshing in today’s day and age with everyone who tries to present the perfect view through the screen of their life. You are among hundreds that say editing videos are probaby one of the most time consuming things they have to do in between work and the subject. Occasionally, along comes a couch potato who wants an opportunity to make a negative nellie comment. I ignore them. Life is short enough as it is and at my age it is a pleasure to watch things I can no longer do easily and having done a lot of camping in my time, I appreciate the effort, expense and time you put into these videos. I'm glad it's a small percentage. I try not to block people right away. But sometimes it's warranted. One guy actually left an apology the following day after going off on another commenter. My boyfriend got me interested in your videos. I enjoy hearing about your camper routines, your love of coffee (me too!) and your resourcefulness. I'm sorry that you've had some inappropriate comments. They don't have to watch you're channel if they don't like it I think you do a fantastic job on what you do, plus you work full time as well. All I can say is keep doing what you are doing Kenny. I've been a fan for over a year. I work in television and consultants have killed it. You're doing exactly what people like to see. The movie and tv industry is scared because of content like what you're creating. I know KZbin doesn't payout...but there will be better options.

I had no idea it took around 20-30 hours of editing to complete one video. That’s a lot of work. A comment saying you were lying or that something fishy was going on was disrespectful. You showed wonderful character by taking the highroad in your response. ❤

@josephsalinas7067 that's so kind of you to share your good news. I'm glad the videos got you out exploring. I have watched so many people on KZbin traveling the country in their vans or truck campers. Most of them had something in common....no Monday through Ftiday job, no house, no kids, no responsibilities of keeping food in the cupboards and electricity on. They were living for the day and only had to worry about their own wellbeing. I really hoped people would see on my channel that we can still get out and explore without selling all of our belongings and hitting the road full-time. We might be living for the weekend, but we're still living!

I couldn't live in Florida......no way!! I would be so uncomfortable for months on end. You will see in tomorrow video how I dislike the heat. It was 82 degrees with dewpoints in the mid 70s...thats probably nothing for you, but there's nothing worse than sweating through all your clothing while sitting in the shade. The super high dew points get to me. I'll take 100 degrees with no humidity, compared to 85 and dew doints in the 70s. It got down to 65 degrees Saturday night, but the humidity stayed. I woke up Sunday to wet pillows and my sheets sticking to me....it sucked!!! I'm soooooo ready for cooler temps.

Kenny as part of my job before retirement, I often lead new installations of equipment in an automotive engine plant. Lining stuff up with the laser and indicating within thousandths of an inch is an acquired skill set. I was asked to make videos on the process. I tried and quickly found out just how hard it was to explain yourself on camera. I came to the conclusion, it's not something I could excel at. In my opinion, you do a great job and keep things light and entertaining. Like your close out where you say we have spent enough time together it's time to go is perfect. It leaves one longing for your next installment. Keep it up.

Kenny, my 6 month old Golden Retriever pup Stella might be Toby's greatest fan. She watched the segment with me yesterday and every time Toby was on she would run to the TV screen barking, wagging her tail. Once she even ran up with her favorite toy and dropped it at the TV. She wants to play with Toby so bad! LoL.........dogs are so awesome! Another great segment..........thanks for all your hard work on your video's!

My wife just retired from her job as a high school video instructor. We both know the TREMENDOUS amount of work and attention to detail that you put into your videos.
